If the leaves of your money tree curl up into waves, it won't be long before it dies if you keep ignoring it
The money tree's leaves are curling, what to do?
If you gardeners see the leaves of your money tree curling, don't take it lightly. This is the money tree's signal to you for help. If you keep ignoring it, it will be a dead loss. Some gardening friends don't know the reason, so Huahua will help you analyze it!
1. Applying strong fertilizer + not enough watering after fertilizing
Spring has arrived, and it is the peak growing season for the money tree. Some gardening friends, in order to make it grow lush and green, give it a lot of fertilizer, but after fertilizing, the follow-up watering is not enough, which causes the newly grown leaves to curl.
How to solve it?
Pour a large amount of water into the money tree's potting soil, and water thoroughly several more times each day, so that the excess fertilizer flows out of the drainage holes with the water. Then place the money tree in a well-ventilated spot, and remove the leaves that have already curled.
How to fertilize the money tree normally?
When fertilizing the money tree normally, first look at its growth state. If the branches and leaves are upright and full of vitality, water it once a week with nutrient solution; you can use fruit peel nutrient solution, diluted 20 times before use. If the growth is not vigorous, water it with fertilizer solution once every 2 weeks.
2. It has pests or diseases
If the money tree has pests or diseases, the leaves will also curl. Open up the curled leaves and carefully check whether there are insects.
How to solve it?
If you see insects, clean them off quickly. You can cut off the leaves with insects, then spray insecticide on all the leaves to kill the insects completely!
3. Placed in a spot with uneven light
If the money tree's placement spot only has sunlight on one side, while the other side rarely gets sunlight, then because plants are phototropic, the leaves will become twisted.
How to solve it?
The money tree counts as a fairly shade-tolerant plant, but it is best placed in scattered light, such as a bright living room, and the light at the placement spot should be even.
The snake plant's leaves are turning yellow and wrinkled, what to do?
The snake plant is a little expert at absorbing formaldehyde, and it is also very easy to grow. Some gardening friends, during care, find that the snake plant's leaves turn yellow and wrinkled. Why is that?
1. It is short of water
If you water too little, the snake plant lacks water, and the leaves will turn yellow and wrinkled. Water when the potting soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do, don't water only halfway.
2. Watering too much, causing waterlogging
Watering too much will cause waterlogging, hinder the snake plant's root respiration, and make the leaves turn yellow and wilt. If the air is relatively humid, the snake plant's transpiration will decrease, so you should reduce watering.
3. A sudden drop in temperature
If after watering thoroughly, a sudden late spring cold snap arrives and the temperature drops sharply, the roots will be frozen in the cold water, which can also make the leaves wrinkled. If you have already moved the snake plant outdoors, keep timely track of temperature changes.
4. Too much fertilizer
Some gardening friends think that since spring has arrived, they should apply more fertilizer to make the snake plant grow quickly, but this leads to fertilizer burn, making the leaves turn yellow and wrinkled. If you fertilized too much, you can change the soil or pour water into the potting soil to flush the fertilizer away.
The clivia's leaves are turning yellow, what to do?
The clivia has plump green leaves and gorgeous flowers, and it is not hard to keep alive. But many gardening friends say the clivia's leaves turn yellow very easily, and they don't know whether it is sick. Today, Huahua will talk about the most common signs and causes of yellowing in clivia!
1. Sometimes yellowing leaves are normal
When the clivia carries out normal metabolism, its leaves can also turn yellow. For example, when it has just been potted, it will slowly recover after adapting for a while, so there is no need to worry too much. As in the picture below, the gradual yellowing from the leaf base to the whole leaf is normal.
2. Yellowing from lack of fertilizer
If it starts from the leaf tip and slowly turns yellow toward the base, this is yellowing caused by lack of fertilizer, the opposite direction from normal yellow leaves. Gardening friends can apply some fermented chicken manure or cake fertilizer to make the clivia turn green and lush!
3. Yellowing caused by pathogens
If round, concentric-ringed, polygonal and various other spots appear on the leaves, in colors such as brown, black, red, gray, white, etc., then it is caused by pathogen infection.
If you have confirmed that the yellowing is caused by pathogens, promptly isolate the sick clivia from other plants, and at the same time spray carbendazim on the leaves once every 7 days. After spraying 2-3 times, the symptoms will be brought under control.
The reasons for curled and yellowing leaves,
Huahua will introduce them here for now.
