What to Do When Aloe Vera Leaves Curl Up
1. Caused by overwatering
If you water it frequently, the potting soil will become too moist, which easily causes the roots to rot and in turn makes the leaves curl. At this point, we had best wait until the potting soil is dry before replenishing water, and not water when it is not dry; only this way can its root system grow well, and naturally the phenomenon of curling leaves will no longer occur.
2. Caused by potting soil that is too hard and compacted
Some friends may not have paid attention when choosing potting soil, making the potting soil they chose too hard and compacted, so that when you pour water in, the water cannot penetrate into the soil layer, and then most of the roots cannot normally absorb water and nutrients, and the leaves will curl. At this point, the best approach is to loosen the potting soil appropriately; this way the potting soil can become more breathable and the roots can grow and absorb water normally.
3. Caused by the air being too dry
When growing it indoors in winter, the air will inevitably be somewhat dry, and aloe vera itself prefers a slightly more humid environment, so over time it will develop curled leaves. At this point, we had best use a spray bottle to spray some water mist around it and on the leaves. If you find that troublesome, we can also place a basin of water in the room or put in an air humidifier.
