A Detailed Guide to Growing Gypsy Baby's Breath
I. How to Plant
1. Seed Selection
We can buy seeds directly from shops or flower markets, but if buying from a shop, be sure not to buy fake seeds; you can test them before planting. If buying from a market, try to find seeds with fuller grains, as this gives a better chance of survival.
2. Planting
Be extra careful when planting. At first we can use a smaller container, and once the plant has grown, switch to a larger container. When choosing soil, try to use nutrient soil and seedling blocks; do not use garden soil, because it is too hard, which can easily cause the newly emerged tender seedlings to stall and die. Then we can place the seeds on the surface of the soil and water gently, and the seeds will slowly settle into the soil, so there is no need to cover them again. Note that they must never be planted too deep, otherwise the seeds will find it hard to push through the soil surface.
II. Later Care
1. Light
When it has just sprouted, this is its fragile period. At this time, to help it survive smoothly, be sure to give it plenty of sun. As long as it gets through this period, it will grow very well afterwards, and can be in the sun all day.
2. Watering
While the seedlings are growing, do not water them heavily. It is better to let the potting soil dry out a little than to have standing water, otherwise the roots will rot.
3. Appropriate Pinching
When it has grown into a plant, it should be pinched back appropriately; this step is very important. If done well, it will allow the flowers to bloom better later on.
