When does cineraria bloom?

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Cineraria is beautiful and charming, and many friends have grown it, only to find that it never blooms. So, when exactly does it bloom? In fact, depending on the specific sowing time, its blooming time will also differ; normally it blooms in April and May. But if you are so inclined, you can also artificially control its blooming time; for example, if you want it to bloom during the Spring Festival, you can sow it in August of the previous year.

I. When it blooms

Its blooming time is generally not very fixed, because different sowing times will also affect its blooming time. But under normal circumstances, it only blooms from April to May. If you want it to bloom during the Spring Festival, you can plant it in August of the previous year. If you want it to bloom on Labor Day, just plant it in October of the previous year. Generally, if you have no great demands regarding its blooming period, then it will bloom from April to May.

II. Care during the blooming period

1. Temperature

If you want to make its blooming period longer, you need to adjust the temperature appropriately. Generally, 10 to 15°C is optimal; if the temperature is too high, it may greatly shorten its blooming period.

2. Light

When it is blooming, we must not let it be in direct sunlight. It is best to place it in a spot indoors with diffused light, and an occasional bit of sun is enough. If the light is too strong, it will make the flowers drop early.

3. Watering

Watering during the blooming period is very important. If the potting soil you choose has decent air permeability, then watering once a day is enough. In addition, if the indoor air is too dry, you can also spray some water appropriately to increase the air humidity.

4. Appropriate fertilization

When its flower buds begin to differentiate and develop, you need to pay attention when choosing fertilizer; usually phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are the main choice, and once the buds have grown out, fertilization should be stopped immediately.
