When does the trailing jade plant bloom? Understanding its flowering cycle
I. When it blooms
This plant can be planted at any time of year, but the minimum temperature must be kept at 5-10 degrees. It is fairly shade-tolerant, fears harsh winters, and prefers warm regions. It is a herb, quite common, and many people know that it stays green all year round, but do not know that it can also bloom. Its flowers are umbrella-shaped and come in colors such as red, white, and blue, with meanings such as happiness and optimism. It generally blooms in summer, and only with very proper daily care can it possibly grow flowers.
II. How to care for it so it blooms
Although many people grow trailing jade plant, very few have seen it grow flowers, and some people do not even know it can bloom. People may think it does not bloom because of the variety, but in fact the main influencing factor is still the owner's inadequate care, because if it were planted in Africa, it would easily grow flowers.
1. Light
It comes from the African region, so it needs very ample light during its growth, especially strong light. Just placing it on a balcony to receive light is not enough. You can put it in an open area, which can ensure the temperature around it and also provide the sunlight it needs. Especially in summer when it is about to bloom, it definitely needs enough light.
2. Water control
During its growth, it does not like too much water. To help it bloom, you can water it when the sunlight is very ample, and water a little less before and after blooming, as long as the potting soil is kept moist.
3. Fertilizing
If you want it to grow flowers, you cannot do without fertilizing. In late spring, add some phosphorus fertilizer that is beneficial for flowering, which can promote this process.
