How to grow Veronica seeds? A detailed guide to the planting method

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Doesn't its name sound quite unusual? When it blooms, its little blue flowers are very eye-catching. Many people have surely seen it, they just don't know that this is what it's called. So how do you grow it from seed? Let's take a look together.

1. Prepare the seedling-growing environment

First, we can prepare a wooden box in a greenhouse, with a moderate depth, and then put in the soil needed for sowing. Remember to make the soil as loose as possible, and it should also have a certain level of fertility; a mix of garden soil, leaf mold and the like is best. After that, sterilize them at high temperature, then put them in a cool place to dry.

2. Sowing

We scatter the prepared seeds into the wooden box. Because the seeds need light to sprout, after sowing we only need to cover them with a thin layer of vermiculite; we must not cover them with a thick layer of substrate, otherwise it will make it hard for them to break through the soil. In addition, make sure the substrate is properly moist, do not let it be exposed to strong light, provide appropriate shade, and then keep the temperature between 28 and 24°C. Generally, in one week to half a month, they will begin to sprout.

3. Care after sowing

1. Transplanting

When the seedlings have grown to a certain height, we need to transplant them separately. When transplanting, pay attention to the distance between the plants so as to promote root growth and plant development. After transplanting, pay attention to tending them; you cannot just leave them alone.

2. Temperature

After the seedlings emerge, we need to ensure the temperature is suitable. Usually the best daytime temperature is between 12 and 18°C, and the nighttime temperature is between 10 and 13°C. If you are growing them outdoors, you also need to cover the plants promptly in winter to prevent frost damage.

3. Water

Usually pay attention to watering promptly, and do not let the flower soil dry out.
