This is a tall tree. Its flowers are very charming, white, and can also give off a special fragrance. It is an ornamental plant grown mainly for its flowers. Its care during the flowering period is very important. Whether before or after flowering, special attention is needed. So, what should be done after it has finished blooming?

1. Specific timing

This plant mainly blooms around March, but the flowers do not last long, generally only about ten to fifteen days. Therefore, after it has finished blooming, various factors should be adjusted in time to promote its subsequent growth.

2. Specific methods

(1) Pruning: After the plant has finished blooming, most of the flowers have fallen. However, some spent flowers will remain on the branches. These spent flowers greatly affect the plant's ornamental value and also consume some nutrients. So, we should first cut them off. In addition, those flower branches that have already withered or become diseased also need to be cut off. If its shape is taken into consideration, then overly long branches can also be removed. However, after pruning, care should be taken to keep the wounds dry, and do not let rain fall on them. Remember to ventilate on time and supply fresh air. Also, when watering, do not splash water onto the wounds. In addition, after pruning, some fermented organic fertilizer such as soybean cake can also be used. In this way, the plant will grow more vigorously afterward.

(2) Topdressing: Some people think that as long as nutrient supply is ensured during flowering, there is no need to bother after it has finished blooming. In fact, this is wrong. Because flowering consumes a lot of nutrients. So, in order to ensure normal growth afterward, topdressing is necessary. After flowering, it is best to apply more phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer.

(3) Pest and disease control: Generally, after a plant finishes blooming, it is very prone to being troubled by diseases and pests. This plant is the same. So, after flowering, we should actively prevent pests and diseases, rather than waiting until they occur and then thinking of remedial measures.
