What causes curled leaves on lily of the valley, and how should it be solved?

Its compact plant, elegant and delicate flowers, and the fresh fragrance it can give off make it a very fine ornamental plant. However, if its leaves curl, that will affect our viewing experience. So how does this happen?

1. Too much fertilizer

(1) Specific cause: In the care of this plant, at certain times, appropriate fertilizer is necessary. But if there is too much fertilizer, it will not only fail to have a positive effect on its growth, but will instead damage the root system. After the roots are burned, its leaves will then suffer, and curling may occur.

(2) Solution: Reduce the frequency of fertilizing and the amount applied each time appropriately. In addition, the concentration of the fertilizer must not be too high. Also, the fertilizer needs to be fermented or thoroughly decomposed; it must not be raw fertilizer.

2. Light problems

(1) Specific cause: For this plant, its growth and development do indeed require light. However, if the light is too strong, or if it is exposed to relatively strong light for a long time, then it may also develop curled leaves.

(2) Solution: If this is the case, then we must adjust the duration and intensity of light reasonably. Place it in a spot that receives scattered light and avoid direct sunlight. It should also be adjusted reasonably according to the season; for example, in winter, it can appropriately get a little more sunlight.

3. Watering problems

(1) Specific cause: Judging from the habits of this plant, it likes a relatively moist environment. If it is wild, then it will be distributed in damp places. If it is grown in a pot, the water certainly must not be lacking either. Therefore, if watering is insufficient for a long time, the soil will clump because it is too dry. Then, if this continues for a long time, the plant's leaves may also curl, and may even dry up and fall off.

(2) Solution: If this is the cause, then we must appropriately add more water. However, we must also make sure that water does not accumulate and damage the roots.
