Rubber plant leaves drooping? Causes and solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Many people have grown plants with large green leaves, and those big green leaves give a lovely feeling. But during the growing process, it is hard to avoid all kinds of problems, such as drooping leaves. Today let's look at what causes this and how to deal with it.

1. Fertilizer

We should understand that this problem is largely caused by improper fertilizer control. If the fertilizer concentration is too high, it can very likely destroy its roots, making it unable to absorb nutrients properly, which then leads to drooping leaves.

Solution: At this point we need to dilute the fertilizer. If the fertilizer used was excessive or unfermented, the only option is to repot it. Of course, fertilizing is still necessary, but as autumn arrives we need to gradually reduce the amount of fertilizer.

2. Watering

Because its leaves are very large, it loses water relatively quickly, so we need to water it often. However, if we forget to water it or the water given is not enough, it can also cause the drooping leaf problem.

Solution: There are two methods. The first is to frequently sprinkle water on the leaves, and the second is to replace the water with beer, so the leaves will not droop. Still, watering the soil is unavoidable, especially when the temperature is not low, as its demand for water is very high, so the soil should be kept moist. Note that in autumn you should not water too much, as this prepares it for the arrival of winter.

3. Light

The lack of light also has a big impact, especially if we place it in a room blown by an air conditioner, because the dry environment makes the leaves very likely to droop.

Solution: We should promptly supplement its light, and when the temperature is not low, place it in a sunny spot, so its resistance will also improve.

4. Points to note

In winter and early spring, we keep it indoors, and at this time we must control the wind well and not let it be exposed to cold wind, otherwise the leaves will suffer. Once the temperature is no longer so low, we can bring it outside again.
