How to care for Pachyphytum 'White Beauty'? Detailed guide to growing methods and precautions
I. Substrate
When caring for this plant, the choice of substrate is very important. Generally, you can choose to mix some peat with perlite, then add coal cinders, in a 1:1:1 ratio. To avoid the plant coming into contact with the surface layer of soil, we can spread relatively clean river sand or pumice on the surface of the soil layer; river sand of 3 to 5 mm in size is fine.
II. Water
If you are replenishing water, you need to wait until the soil has dried out completely before watering.
In summer, you can give it water 3 to 4 times a month, pouring slowly around the edge of the pot, and when watering you must pay close attention to the amount of water; there must be no standing water in the pot, but the soil must not be too dry either. If there is standing water, it will cause the roots to rot; if it is too dry, it will cause the plant's leaves to shrivel.
In winter, once the temperature drops below 3 degrees, you should gradually reduce the amount of water, and below zero degrees keep the potting soil dry.
This plant can grow in an environment without light, but it cannot tolerate cold climates.
III. Sunlight
It most loves to grow and develop under ample sunlight, and it has no obvious dormant period, so you can care for it with full sun. However, when the summer temperature is too high it will also go dormant; at this time you should pay attention to reducing the water supply, improving the air circulation around it, and providing it with shade.
IV. Precautions
This plant can grow in an environment without much water, but if it is kept outdoors, you need to be careful not to let rain fall on it, so that the white powder on the leaves does not fall off, as this would greatly affect its ornamental value.
