For friends who have not studied flower varieties in depth and cannot tell the difference between cherry blossoms and peach blossoms, if you want cherry blossoms to produce lush, dense flowers, care before they bloom is essential. This may stump many people, and the following knowledge is prepared for you.

I. Blooming period

Japan is a holy place for admiring this flower. Cherry blossoms in Japan generally bloom from late March to early April, but because of global warming, cherry blossoms have also been affected, causing them to bloom earlier. This flower begins to grow together with its leaves in March, and some bloom only after the leaves have grown out. In the early stage, its petals are light red, then become purple-brown, and by July the cherry blossom has matured. A single flower has a lifespan of only seven days from opening to withering, and the blooming period of a whole tree lasts only about sixteen days, and it blooms and drops petals at the same time.

II. Care before blooming

If you want cherry blossoms to look beautiful during the blooming period, with good petal shape and a long blooming period, then you need to pay attention to the following aspects during the blooming period.

1. Soil

It does not like soil with a high content of saline-alkali substances. Although its requirements for soil are not strict, it is best to prepare sandy soil for it, preferably with good drainage and loose, fertile texture.

2. Temperature

Cherry blossoms like warmth, but they are not afraid of severe cold either. If you want cherry blossoms to bloom earlier in winter, you can move them indoors. It comes from temperate and subtropical zones, and the temperatures there are what it likes.

3. Pruning

During its growing period, you should always clean off dead branches and yellow leaves on the tree. If the cherry blossom grows many branch shoots, they should be cut back, otherwise they will waste the nutrients of the main trunk. After you cut its branch shoots, you should take protective measures for its wounds, such as applying preservative, because its wounds take a long time to heal, and this way the chance of wound infection becomes smaller. Before it blooms, be careful to shorten those branches that are growing very densely, and cut off all those branches that are diseased, infested with insects, or withered.

4. Watering

The soil for planting flowers should not have too much standing water or be too moist, otherwise the roots are prone to rot. In milder cases, the leaves will fall off, affecting blooming; in severe cases, the whole tree will die. Water reasonably according to the season and the size of the tree.
