Flowers & Gardening 0 views
This plant is also known as "white-spotted begonia" (Begonia 'Lucerna'), and it is a shrub-type plant native to tropical regions. After being introduced to our country, it has been widely cultivated. Its stems are very thin, and its leaves have silvery-white spots, which we can easily see from the pictures. If you want to grow one, then you need to learn more about it. First, let's take a look at its propagation.

1. Seed sowing method

Timing: For this method, we had best choose to do it at the very beginning of spring.

Seed selection: To increase the survival rate, we must choose seeds that are fully mature, healthy, and as plump as possible.

Soil: We should mainly consider its drainage and nutrients, so we can choose humus soil.

Specific steps: Evenly scatter the seeds into the soil, and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Next, we need to control the temperature at around 16 degrees, and the humidity must be ensured. Patiently wait for it to grow roots and leaves. When it has grown two or three leaves, it can be moved into a pot.

2. Cutting method

Timing: For this method, it can be done during the period from May to June.

Material selection: We had best choose the freshly grown young shoots at the top of the mother plant, with a length of about 10 to 15 cm.

Specific operation: Cut off the selected material with sterilized scissors, and wait for the cut to dry. After it dries, insert it into the substrate. Keep misting every day. After about two to three weeks, you can observe that it has grown roots.

3. Division method

Scope of application: When using this method, it is generally for clustered varieties.

Soil: Refer to the soil used for seed propagation.

Specific steps: Divide the selected mother plant into several portions with a small knife, and each portion should have roots. Note that there should not be too many portions, and the roots must not be damaged. Then, plant them separately in the substrate.
