How to grow verbena so it bursts into a full pot? A detailed guide to care methods
1. Soil
Although it has few requirements for soil, we can still use some prepared soil as much as possible to help it grow better. For example, we can mix garden soil with leaf mold soil and use them together, and the soil must meet the requirements for looseness and drainage, so that the plant will develop better.
2. Light
This plant needs light, but if it is exposed to strong light for a long time, its leaves and branches will also develop poorly, its growth rate will slow, and it may even enter a dormant state. In winter, when the temperature is not too high, it can be placed in the sunlight; this growing method can help it carry out biological processes and is beneficial to the development of flower buds. During its flowering period, after keeping it indoors for a period of time, it needs to be moved outdoors to a shaded place for a period of time. This alternating growing method can help it accumulate nutrients and extend the flowering period.
3. Watering
Because its roots are relatively shallow, you need to pay attention to replenishing water in summer, but if there is too much water, its stems and branches will grow rapidly and the number of flowers will decrease; if there is too little water, the plant will develop poorly.
4. Temperature
This plant is accustomed to a warm climate, so both excessively high summer temperatures and excessively low winter temperatures are unfavorable to its growth.
5. Pruning
Before this plant blooms, it needs to be pinched back, and it should be pinched twice, as only then can the development of flower buds and branches be promoted. About every two months, some stems and branches with old leaves and yellow leaves should be cut off.
