Repotting the Green Treasure Tree: Methods and Step-by-Step Guide
1. Early Preparation
The first thing we need to determine is the timing, and this point is very important.
In spring and autumn the temperature is relatively good, and the plant may be in a state of sprouting or dormancy. Doing this operation during this period is completely fine. Next, what we need to do is stop watering, because only in this way can its soil become dry and only then can the plant come out.
2. Method
First, what we need to do is use a knife to loosen the soil around the edges, then use a tool to get the plant out. Generally, we can turn it upside down, so that it will fall out directly due to gravity. After that, we need to use scissors to trim its roots properly, so that the roots will grow quickly.
We must not mess with the soil near the main root at will, because only in this way will the roots not be damaged as a result. Afterwards, we should rinse the potting soil a little, then wash the pot and pad the drainage hole. When doing this operation, remember to raise it off the ground, so that future dripping can remain unobstructed. The bottom of the pot needs new soil, and then we sprinkle on some of the fertilizer it needs. Generally speaking, the fertilizer we provide should be rotted or well fermented. Finally, sprinkle on another layer of soil. After that, the plant can be put in. Lastly, what we need to do is add soil at the rim of the pot. Before finishing adding it, we can lift the plant up a bit, so that the roots spread out better.
3. Later Stage
After repotting, what we need to do is water it slowly, and only stop this operation once water seeps through. After that, we can place it in a place without sunlight. During this period, we cannot water it frequently, but spraying water on the leaves is fine. After about half a month, we can care for it normally.
