Jingzhou Waxberry Themed Online Photography Contest Officially Launched

The "Yipin Dongfang" 2017 China·Jingzhou·Waxberry Festival - "Impressions of Jingzhou Sweet Waxberry of the World" Online Photography Contest officially launched on May 31. This event is hosted by the People's Government of Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County, and organized by Nongxun Net. This year's online photography contest is divided into a professional group and an amateur group, aiming to record every stage of Jingzhou waxberry from production to sales through the lenses of the public, letting everyone understand the stories behind Jingzhou waxberry, while perfectly presenting Jingzhou's Miao and Dong culture, beautiful natural scenery, and the achievements of "Internet + Agriculture" new rural construction.

Professional Group & Amateur Group

During the event, 20 professional photographers will be selected to go to Jingzhou for a photo excursion. Focusing closely on the theme of "Jingzhou Waxberry", participants must show every stage of waxberry from production to sales, including scenes from the Jingzhou Waxberry Festival such as the waxberry picking ceremony, people tasting waxberries, and fruit farmers selling waxberries. For the amateur group, works only need to center on the theme of "Jingzhou Waxberry" and reflect Jingzhou Waxberry Festival activities and Jingzhou waxberries.

Specific Event Process

1. Submit Contest Works

(1) Professional Group

Deadline: Before 24:00 on June 18, 2017

Submission contents: Send the contest work, work introduction, personal introduction (1 personal life photo + a self-introduction within 100 characters), contact phone number, etc. to the email [email protected];

Work requirements:

A. Focus closely on the theme of "Jingzhou Waxberry"; participants must show every stage of waxberry from production to sales, including scenes from the Jingzhou Waxberry Festival such as the waxberry picking ceremony, people tasting waxberries, and fruit farmers selling waxberries.

B. Submitted works must be in jpg format, with images uniformly processed to a long side of 1000 pixels, and file size controlled within 3000KB. For works without introductory materials, the organizer will cancel their qualification for evaluation.

C. Works created with computer creativity or altered from the original image are declined. Apart from moderate adjustments to brightness, contrast, color saturation, and composition cropping,

computers or traditional darkroom techniques must not be used for compositing, adding, deleting, drastically changing colors, or other technical processing. Digital cameras are recommended to shoot in RAW format. For traditional film cameras, please scan and save in digital format for submission; participants must be the author of the submitted work and hold independent, complete copyright to that work; submitted works must not infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of third parties, including copyright, portrait rights, reputation rights, privacy rights, etc.

(2) Amateur Group

Deadline: Before 24:00 on June 25, 2017

Submission contents: Send the contest work, work introduction, personal introduction (1 personal life photo + a self-introduction within 100 characters), contact phone number, etc. to the email [email protected];

Work requirements:

A. Works only need to center on the theme of "Jingzhou Waxberry" and reflect Jingzhou Waxberry Festival activities and Jingzhou waxberries.

B. Submitted works must be in jpg format, and any shooting device may be used (camera, mobile phone, iPad, etc.), with file size controlled within 3000KB. For works without introductory materials, the organizer will cancel their qualification for evaluation.

C. Participants must be the author of the submitted work and hold independent, complete copyright to that work; submitted works must not infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of third parties, including copyright, portrait rights, reputation rights, privacy rights, etc.

2. Photography Masters' On-Site Shoot in Jingzhou

Shooting time: June 11 - June 12

Shooting location: Jingzhou

Number of professional photographers: 20

Event description: During the event, 20 professional photography masters will be organized to go to Jingzhou for a photo excursion. Focusing closely on the theme of "Jingzhou Waxberry", participants must show every stage of waxberry from production to sales, including scenes from the Jingzhou Waxberry Festival such as the waxberry picking ceremony, people tasting waxberries, and fruit farmers selling waxberries.

3. Online Voting Selection

Voting method: All collected works that meet the contest standards will be displayed online and voted on. Votes can be solicited through WeChat, QQ, etc., and the voting results will account for 50% of the entire contest score;

4. Organizing Committee Selection

Selection method: The contest organizing committee will comprehensively score all collected works that meet the contest standards based on multiple factors such as their photographic professionalism, whether they closely adhere to the theme, and work descriptions, and the scoring results will account for 50% of the entire score.

5. Results Announcement

July 3, 2016

The scores from the online voting selection and the organizing committee selection will be combined to determine the final winners. In both the professional group and the amateur group, 1 gold award, 2 silver awards, 3 bronze awards, and 10 excellence awards will be selected. The list of winners will be publicly announced on "Jingzhou Waxberry" (jzymvip).

6. Award Ceremony

July 4, 2016 - July 10, 2016

The contest organizer will present award certificates, prize money, and picture albums to the winners.
