Breeding and production are developing better and better today, and many special projects that were previously uncommon have also been developed, so the market demand for feed is also growing day by day. But there are all kinds of feed on the market, and many farmers fall into certain misunderstandings when choosing feed. So what are the common feed types? Let's find out together.

1. Health grit

Health grit, namely mineral feed, contains the minerals essential to homing pigeons and is used to supplement the deficiency of minerals in the daily ration of pigeons. The main ingredients include red soil, gravel, bone meal, charcoal, salt, and some vitamins, trace elements, etc. When feeding, pay attention to controlling the amount, and it is best to mix it fresh each time.

2. Buckwheat

Buckwheat is different from other grain crops; it does not belong to the grass family, but is a dicotyledonous plant. Wild buckwheat, for example, has high yield, rich nutrition, and good palatability, and is also a good feed for raising pigs.

3. Peanut

Peanut is a legume crop and one of the main oil-bearing varieties for high-quality edible oil. It is now grown all over the country, mainly distributed in Liaoning, Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan and other regions. The peanut shell contains 70%-80% cellulose, 16% pentosan, 10% hemicellulose, and 4%-7% protein, and is also a good feed ingredient.

4. Rapeseed

Rapeseed is the seed of rapeseed plants. The oil content in rapeseed is 37.5%-46.3%, and the oil content varies slightly depending on the type of rapeseed. It can be said that rapeseed is a very good oil-bearing material. For feed purposes, it is generally used in chicken house feed, but the amount must be limited: for broilers the amount is below 10%, and for laying hens and breeding hens around 8%.

5. Corn

Corn is a very important food crop and an important feed source, and is also the food crop with the highest total output in the world. It is reported that corn is the main energy feed in livestock and poultry feed formulas and has the reputation of the "king of energy". It is used in the largest amount in feed formulas, generally above 50%.

6. Vitamin feed

Vitamin feed, as the name suggests, is feed produced to supplement vitamins, including industrially synthesized single vitamins such as vitamin A microcapsules, D3 microcapsules, B1, B12, etc., as well as compound vitamins, namely multivitamins, etc.

7. Roughage

Commonly used high-quality roughages include: sweet potato vines, peanut vines, dried green grass, sophora leaf powder, etc. This type of feed has a low crude fiber content, generally 18%-30%. The degree of lignification is low, the palatability is good, and it is relatively easy to digest, and the protein and vitamins are also fairly comprehensive.

8. Mixed feed

Mixed feed is made by simply processing and mixing various feed ingredients. It is a primary compound feed, mainly considering nutritional indicators such as energy, protein, calcium, and phosphorus, and is common in many rural areas. Mixed feed can be used to feed animals directly, with better results than ordinary feed.

The above is an introduction to common feed types. Of course, this is only a small part of them. Some protein feeds, mineral feeds, etc. are also widely used, as well as some grain crop ingredients such as wheat, rice grain, sesame, etc. But specifically speaking, supplement whatever is lacking; when raising livestock and poultry, everyone just needs to choose the appropriate feed type according to their needs.
