Which peanut variety has the highest yield? Recommended high-yield varieties
Peanut cultivation areas in China are distributed very widely; places such as Hebei, Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, and Liaoning all have large peanut planting areas. Climate conditions vary from place to place, so if you want to achieve high yields, the key lies in choosing the right variety. So which peanut variety has the highest yield? Below are recommendations for several high-yield peanut varieties.
Which peanut variety has the highest yield?
There are many high-yield peanut varieties, but as for which is the highest-yielding, it depends specifically on factors such as the growing environment and growing conditions. In short, you may have a good variety, but without a good growing environment and conditions, it still cannot deliver high-yield performance, and the reverse is also true. As for the high-yield peanut varieties authoritatively recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, they mainly include Yuhua 9326, Luhua 19, 8130 peanut, Qinghua No. 7, and so on.
Recommended high-yield peanut varieties
1. Qinghua No. 7
The Qinghua No. 7 variety comes from Qingdao Agricultural University and is a new variety systematically bred after crossing Xihua 32 with Baisha 505. This variety belongs to the common large-pod peanut type; the pod has clear reticulation, the waist is relatively shallow, the seed kernel is oval, with 15 pods per plant, and the 100-pod weight is 210.4 grams. In the large-seed group regional trial of peanut varieties across the province, the two-year average pod yield per mu was 433.0 kg and the kernel yield was 308.5 kg. In the 2019 large-plot trial, the average pod yield per mu was 509.9 kg.
2. 8130 peanut
The 8130 peanut is a new high-yield, high-quality export large-pod peanut variety bred by the Shandong Peanut Research Institute, and it was the only peanut variety in the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" National Key Scientific and Technological Achievement Promotion Plan. This variety is a medium-maturity erect common-type large peanut, with a main stem height of 40 cm, light red seed kernels, and a shelling rate of 73%-75%. It has strong drought resistance and especially tolerates continuous cropping, with a high-yield trial reaching 619.25 kg/mu.
3. Luhua 19
Luhua 19 registration number GPD Peanut (2018) 370081, and it is an oil-use, high-quality peanut variety. The average growth period is 130 days, the main stem height is 44.1 cm, the kernel skin is pink, the 100-pod weight is 208.56 g, and the 100-kernel weight is 91.72 g. In the national northern regional trial, the average pod yield per mu was 495.4 kg, an increase of 9.0% over the control Luhua No. 11, and the average field yield was 1200 jin.
4. Yuhua 9326
Yuhua 9326 is a high-quality, high-yield peanut variety bred by the Industrial Crops Research Institute of the Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, with registration number GPD Peanut (2018) 410069. This variety belongs to the erect sparse-branching type, generally with a plant height of about 40 cm, dark green oval large leaves, common-type pods, a deep yellow inner seed coat, a 100-kernel weight of about 88 grams, and a kernel outturn rate of about 70%. For pods, the yield per mu in the first growth cycle was 301.71 kg, an increase of 5.16% over the control Luhua No. 11; in the second growth cycle, the yield per mu was 272.1 kg, an increase of 7.59% over the control Luhua No. 11. For kernels, the yield per mu in the first growth cycle was 211.5 kg, an increase of 0.92% over the control Luhua No. 11; in the second growth cycle, the yield per mu was 189.1 kg, an increase of 7.43% over the control Luhua No. 11.
The above is an introduction to some high-yield peanut varieties. Of course, good varieties cannot be separated from scientific cultivation techniques. Pay attention to the growth characteristics of each peanut variety, then put in enough effort in management, and achieving a peanut yield of a thousand jin per mu is not a dream.
