How to pot Arundina graminifolia? Detailed potting method and steps

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
It is already February now, and by March it will be time to start repotting plants, or potting them up. Today we will mainly talk about potting up. Potting up is quite important for plants, as it directly affects the plant's future growth condition. Today the editor has summarized the potting method for Arundina graminifolia. I hope it will be helpful to flower lovers who are growing this plant.

1. Potting time

March to April in spring, or October to November in autumn.

2. Potting method

First, rinse the soil off the roots of the dug-up plant with clean water. When rinsing, keep the roots facing upward, then rinse with non-pressurized clean water, and keep your hand movements gentle so as not to damage it. After rinsing, hold the roots with your hand and place it in the pot. If it cannot be fixed in place, you can use a bamboo chopstick to help secure it.

Before placing the plant, first put some crushed stones in the bottom of the pot to help with better drainage and aeration, then add soil. After placing the plant, cover it with soil. At this point you can gently lift the plant upward a little, so the roots can grow better. The soil height should reach about 3/5 of the flower pot, then press it down gently with your hand. Finally, sprinkle large-particle growing medium about 1.5 cm high on the top layer. This completes the potting.

3. Precautions

After potting is completed, water immediately, and water thoroughly. After water flows out from the bottom, water another 1/3 of the amount. Then place it in a shaded spot, and do not let it get sunlight. After about 1 month, you can place it in the sunlight, but still avoid overly strong light. At the same time, just maintain the pot soil humidity at around 60%. Be sure not to let it be too wet, or allow waterlogging to occur. The best placement is still a semi-shaded spot (or a spot that only gets morning sunlight) with good air circulation.
