Common Types of Microbial Fertilizers and How to Use Them Correctly

As we all know, if there are no microbial components in the soil, it is equivalent to losing its activity and productivity. However, the most common agricultural phenomenon in our country is severe continuous cropping and excessive fertilizer indices, which have destroyed a large number of beneficial microbial flora in the soil. Therefore, applying microbial fertilizers is the most direct and effective way to improve soil quality, enhance soil biological fertility, and thereby increase crop yields. So what are the common types of microbial fertilizers? How should they be used correctly? Let's find out together.

Common Types of Microbial Fertilizers

1. Nine Microbial Inoculants

Rhizobium inoculant, nitrogen-fixing bacteria inoculant, phosphate-solubilizing bacteria inoculant, silicate bacteria inoculant, mycorrhizal fungi inoculant, photosynthetic bacteria inoculant, organic material decomposing inoculant, compound microbial inoculant, and soil remediation microbial inoculant.

Functions: Microbial inoculants can directly or indirectly improve soil, restore soil fertility, maintain the balance of the rhizosphere microbial community, and degrade toxic and harmful substances.

2. Two Microbial Fertilizers

① Compound microbial fertilizer: It is the top-recommended fertilizer for relieving soil compaction, repairing and conditioning soil, improving chemical fertilizer utilization efficiency, and improving fruit quality and yield.

② Bio-organic fertilizer: Mainly made from animal and plant residues as sources, which are harmlessly treated, decomposed, and compounded with organic materials. It is a type of fertilizer that combines the effects of microbial fertilizer and organic fertilizer.

How to Use Microbial Fertilizers

1. Microbial inoculants

Mainly used as base fertilizer, topdressing, and seedling fertilizer. Solid inoculants are generally used at about 2 kg per mu, mixed evenly with 40-60 kg of organic fertilizer before use. When raising crop seedlings, solid inoculants can be mixed into nutrient soil, stirred evenly, and then placed into nutrient pots for seedling cultivation; the inoculant can also be diluted 10-20 times for seed dressing, root dipping, or root spraying; or diluted 500 times for foliar spraying.

2. Compound microbial fertilizer

Used as base fertilizer at 10-20 kg per mu, applied together with organic fertilizer or farmyard manure; used as topdressing at 10-20 kg per mu during the crop growing period; for foliar spraying, dilute 500 times and spray on leaves.

3. Bio-organic fertilizer

Used as base fertilizer at 100 kg per mu, applied together with farmyard manure; used as topdressing about 7-10 days earlier than chemical fertilizer, and the application rate can refer to that of chemical fertilizer topdressing.

The above is an introduction to the types and usage methods of microbial fertilizers. It should be noted that microbial fertilizers have relatively strict requirements for soil conditions, and they should be avoided from being used at the same time as pesticides. As long as everyone uses them according to the correct instructions for different varieties, it will be fine.
