Causes and Solutions for Dry Brown Leaf Tips on Peace Lilies
1. Watering Problems
(1) Cause: Although it likes a moist environment, if we water too much and cause excess moisture, it will lead to waterlogging. Over time, the leaf tips will dry out or turn yellow.
(2) Solution: If this is the case, then we need to appropriately reduce the frequency of watering, and wait until the growing medium is observed to be dry before watering again. In addition, do not water too much at a time; the amount must be controlled well.
2. Fertilizing Problems
(1) Cause: This is also a very likely cause. If too much fertilizer is applied, the plant's leaf tips are also very likely to become dry and withered, and its new leaves will also fail to unfurl properly.
(2) Solution: We can use other seeds, such as cabbage or radish seeds. Scatter them on the surface of the potting soil, and they can absorb the excess nutrients. However, note that they must be pulled out promptly after they sprout. Otherwise, the nutrients they consume will become excessive.
3. Environmental Problems
(1) Cause: If the plant's root system does not adapt to the surrounding environment, the phenomenon of leaf tips drying up can also occur. This situation mostly happens when changing flower pots or soil.
(2) Solution: If it has just been moved to a new growing environment, do not repot it or change the soil right away. Especially the soil, it is best not to change it immediately.
4. Lighting Problems
(1) Cause: This situation is caused by light that is too strong, because this plant prefers a semi-shaded environment. Long-term strong light will cause leaf scorch, and its leaf tips may become withered.
(2) Solution: Place the plant in a spot such as a windowsill to receive scattered light, and avoid strong light.
