Duck farming is divided into meat duck and laying duck farming. If you want laying ducks to lay more eggs, the first thing is to choose a good laying duck breed. Because if you choose a non-laying duck breed and raise it to lay eggs, it will naturally not match the egg production and egg quality of a good laying duck breed. But quite a few laying duck farmers have reported: clearly a good laying duck breed was chosen, so why are the egg production and quality still poor? On this issue, what the editor wants to tell everyone is: if your ducks lay few eggs but there is no problem with the breed, then it is absolutely your farming method that is wrong. Below, let's talk about this issue: how to farm so that laying ducks lay more eggs and have good quality? Farmers and free-range households, please read carefully!

In fact, if you want laying ducks to increase production, you must do the following points well:

1. Keep more drakes:

Keep an appropriate number of extra drakes in the duck flock, generally increasing by 2%-3% over the normal male-to-female ratio. The sexual stimulation of drakes on female ducks can make the female ducks ovulate faster, thereby making the female ducks lay more eggs.

2. Drink tea water:

Tea water can prevent nutritional anemia and salt poisoning in laying ducks. Give the ducks an appropriate amount of tea water every morning, noon and evening. In summer, it can relieve heat, make the ducks get sick less often, and lay more eggs.

3. Feed honey:

When the ducks start laying, add 1 kg of honey to 50 kg of feed and mix it into the feed, feeding continuously for 5 days, then after an interval of 15 days, feed continuously for another 5 days. Repeating this cycle can make the ducks lay more eggs, and the eggs laid are large. This method also has a certain effect on preventing duck plague.

4. Feed dry rice:

During the laying period of the ducks, feed the ducks some rice grain or dry rice grains, letting them eat freely. This can make the ducks get sick less often and lay more eggs.

5. Feed animal-based feed:

Let the ducks often forage freely in fields, ditches, ponds and other places for small fish, small shrimp, tadpoles, insects, river snails, etc. During the laying period, graze them less, and feed some animal-based feed such as fish meal and green feed rich in multiple vitamins, so as to meet their demand for nutrients and make the ducks lay more eggs.

6. Persist in feeding mixed feed:

The quality of the feed directly affects the laying rate of laying ducks. Only by persisting in feeding mixed feed and meeting the nutritional needs of laying ducks for egg production can the laying rate of the ducks be increased. If you still rely on the previous extensive management habit, with a single feed and irregular feeding times, it will not only reduce the number of eggs laid, but also waste feed.

Therefore, you must persist in feeding mixed feed produced by a feed processing plant. If you cannot buy mixed feed, you can also make mixed feed yourself. The formula ratio is 48% cornmeal, 25% soybean cake or sunflower cake, 10% wheat bran, 5% sorghum meal, 7% fish meal, 3% shell powder, 2% bone meal, and at the same time add 0.2% salt. Each time you feed, you can also add some green vegetables, or add 10 grams of veterinary multivitamins to 100 kg of mixed feed, stir evenly and then feed. Every day, persist in feeding the ducks at fixed times and in fixed amounts, feeding once every 6 hours, and 4~5 times a day.

There is one more point: if you want laying duck farming to have high egg production all year round, the laying feed must also differ by season, for example:

1. Summer: 57% yellow corn, 5.8% bran, 8% pagoda tree leaf powder (or alfalfa grass powder), 13% fried soybeans, 10% peanut kernel cake, 1.1% calcium lactate, 0.2% probiotics, 0.2% choline chloride, 0.03% Jinxing Vita, 0.17% trace elements, 0.5% salt, 4% shell powder.

2. Winter: 60.8% yellow corn, 3% bran, 8% pagoda tree leaf powder (or alfalfa grass powder), 12% fried soybeans, 10% peanut kernel cake, 1.1% calcium lactate, 0.2% probiotics, 0.2% choline chloride, 0.04% Jinxing Vita, 0.16% trace elements, 0.5% salt, 4% shell powder.

3. To enhance the immune capacity of laying ducks, you can add some sulfaquinoxaline to the feed to prevent the occurrence of fowl cholera. And the feeding troughs for the ducks should be scrubbed frequently and disinfected with a 0.1% potassium permanganate aqueous solution.

4. Provide clean drinking water in a timely manner. Every day, a certain amount of clean water should be kept in the drinking trough, but you should add it little and often, so that the laying ducks can drink water at any time. However, in cold winter, prevent the laying ducks from washing their bodies with water. If the water soaks the feathers, they are prone to freezing and injury, which affects egg laying.

After reading this, do you have some understanding? So if you want laying ducks to lay more eggs, besides raising a good laying duck breed, a scientific and reasonable farming management method is even more important!
