In rural areas, raising chickens and pigs is commonplace, and problems are unavoidable during the breeding process. For chicken keepers, dandelion is a good thing. Let's take a look at the details!

Dandelion is also called huanghua diding. In fact, dandelion is a very common medicinal plant with excellent medicinal value. If a flock shows symptoms such as high temperature, aversion to cold, and purulent lesions in the lungs, feeding dandelion to the sick chickens would be a good choice.

(1) Clearing heat and detoxifying

Dandelion is bitter in taste and cold in nature, and has a good function of clearing heat and detoxifying. When a flock catches a heat-related cold, with high body temperature and fear of cold, feeding dandelion to the sick chickens can achieve the purpose of clearing heat and lowering temperature.

(2) Reducing swelling and dispersing sores

Dandelion enters the lung meridian and can treat lung abscess. When a flock shows difficulty breathing, and necropsy reveals thick fluid in the trachea, lung ulcers, and purulent lesions, feeding dandelion to the sick chickens can treat the ulcers and purulent lesions in the lungs.

(3) Killing bacteria

If chickens are infected with Salmonella, they will show symptoms of listlessness, huddling together from fear of cold, and passing lime-like watery droppings. After necropsy of the sick chickens, the liver may appear copper-green or have a large number of yellowish-white punctate necrotic lesions on its surface.

Because dandelion contains components such as taraxacin, inulin, and choline, it has a good bactericidal effect and can kill Salmonella. Therefore, during treatment, dandelion can be used together with other medicines, which will have a relatively good effect.

In addition, if chickens have wounds on their bodies, they are very susceptible to Staphylococcus aureus infection. After infection, the sick chickens show symptoms such as dry necrosis of the claws, swelling of the eyelids, and purplish-blue ear-like patches on the skin. Similarly, feeding dandelion to the sick chickens will also have a relatively good effect on killing the staphylococci in the sick chickens' bodies.

Method of use: Dig up dandelion when it is flowering, dry it in the sun, cut it into sections and use it raw. The dosage is 1.5-3 grams per chicken.
