Golden oyster mushroom, also known as golden-top pleurotus, Yuhuang mushroom, or golden mushroom, is nutritious and also has medicinal value for nourishing and strengthening the body. So, how much is golden oyster mushroom per jin? How do you prepare the substrate? When do you cultivate it?

1. How much is golden oyster mushroom per jin?

According to Ms. Huang of Yichun City, Heilongjiang, the market price of golden oyster mushroom has now reached five or six yuan per jin.

2. How do you prepare the substrate for golden oyster mushroom?

Common formula one: 100 kg cottonseed hulls, 2 kg lime, material-to-water ratio 1:1.3-1.5; this formula can be used for raw material cultivation or fermented material cultivation.

Common formula two: 70 kg corncobs, 15 kg wheat bran, 15 kg decomposed chicken manure, 4 kg quicklime (lime quality varies from place to place, so the amount added can be slightly adjusted), 0.3 kg urea, 1 kg gypsum, moisture content around 65 percent. The substrate pile should be 1 m high, 1.2-1.5 m wide, and of unlimited length. After building the pile, gently compact the surface of the material, then use a fairly thick wooden stick to make ventilation holes evenly from top to bottom through the pile to avoid anaerobic fermentation. When the temperature at 20 cm inside the pile rises to about 65°C, maintain it for 12 hours and then turn the pile. When turning, swap the positions of the substrate from top to bottom and inside to outside, and mix thoroughly. After the first turning, wait until the material temperature rises again above 60°C, maintain for 1-2 days, then turn again, for a total of 3-4 turnings. When the corncobs turn dark brown and have a fermented aroma, fermentation is complete.

3. When do you cultivate golden oyster mushroom?

According to the temperature required for fruiting body differentiation and development of golden oyster mushroom, it can be cultivated in autumn, winter, and spring in northern China, while in southern China the autumn and winter seasons are better.

Golden oyster mushroom has strong resistance to contamination and grows and develops quickly, and it can use a relatively wide range of cultivation environments, such as idle single-story houses, mushroom sheds, solar greenhouses, plastic tunnels, trenches, and so on.
