Dezhou donkey (Bohai black donkey) is one of China's five excellent donkey breeds, mainly distributed in Dezhou, Binzhou, Cangzhou and other places. So how much does a donkey seedling cost per head? How many jin can it grow in a year? What are the costs and profits of raising 10 head? According to Dezhou donkey farmer Master Gao, the Dezhou donkey grows on average about 600-700 jin per year. What are the costs and profits of raising 10 Dezhou donkeys?

1. As people's living standards improve, consumers are adjusting their dietary structure, and consumption concepts are gradually leaning toward health. The meat donkey is a herbivore and a green food. The market for meat donkeys has expanded accordingly, and donkey products are in short supply; according to surveys by relevant departments, the market gap is over 70%. Donkey feed sources are extensive and can be found almost everywhere in rural areas, such as crop by-products and crop straws, for example: corn straw, wheat straw, soybean straw, peanut vines, sweet potato vines, millet straw, rice straw, pasture grass and so on can all be used as forage for raising donkeys. The feeding cost of raising donkeys is very low, and their feed intake is low, only one third that of cattle.

2. Raising 10 meat donkeys takes 10-12 months; we calculate by the longest raising time of 12 months, with body weight reaching 600-700 jin. 3. Coarse feed costs for 10 meat donkeys: the coarse feeds that meat donkeys can use include: corn straw, wheat straw, peanut straw, sweet potato straw, rice straw, weeds and so on. The purchase price of coarse grass is calculated at 0.2 yuan per jin, so 10 jin requires 2 yuan (the coarse feed cost needed per meat donkey per day).
