What water can you use to water household potted flowers so that no fertilizing is needed? Rice water and fish tank water
Nowadays many people love growing flowers at home, and wanting to grow them well means fertilizing is indispensable, but fermenting fertilizer at home or using chemical fertilizers is not suitable, so what is the best way? Here we introduce to everyonewhat water can you use to water household potted flowers so that no fertilizing is needed? Rice water and fish tank water both work!
1. Okara water
Many families now make their own soy milk, and the leftover okara is also one of the very best fertilizers. It itself contains nutrients such as protein, a variety of vitamins and carbohydrates.
Preparation process: collect the okara and put it into a large plastic cola bottle, add 5 times its volume of clean water, seal the bottle mouth, and let it ferment fully. During fermentation, note that air must be left inside the bottle, because during the fermentation process the microorganisms carry out aerobic respiration. In summer about 10 days, in spring and autumn about 20 days, and then it is ready to use; when using, add clean water again at a ratio of 1:1.
2. Rice water
Rice water is rich in phosphorus, an important element for flowers to bloom. Phosphorus can make flowers bloom more, and can also promote flowers to bear abundant fruit. If rice water is often used to water flowers, it can not only make the flowers bloom more brightly, but rice water after fermentation is acidic, so it can be used more on acid-loving flowers, especially azaleas, jasmine, gardenias and magnolias (Michelia alba), making them grow robustly, with a rich fragrance and a longer flowering period, and it can also prevent the leaves from turning yellow, keeping them glossy green all year round.
Therefore, rice water should be used more in household flower growing. But for watering flowers it is best to use fermented rice water. Fermentation method: after collecting the rice water, store it in a vat or other container, cover it and let it stand for about 10 days, and then it is ready to use.
3. Milk
Milk can be used to water flowers; the organic matter in milk can improve soil structure and make the soil fertile. But milk cannot be poured directly into the flower pot, otherwise it will harm the flowers. So the leftover milk that has not gone bad needs to be mixed with water, diluted at a ratio of 1:10, and then used to water flowers.
4. Fish tank water
From large fish ponds down to small aquarium water, and the water from washing filter cotton, the water temperature is close to the natural air temperature and it contains fish bait residue and excrement, all of which can be converted into the nutrients plants need, making it good water for watering flowers.
5. Beer
Using beer to water flowers can make potted plants grow vigorously, with green leaves and bright flowers; it not only allows the potted plants to get sufficient nutrients, but they are also absorbed especially quickly. The specific method of use: mix water and beer evenly at a ratio of 1:50 and then it can be used to water flowers.
6. Magnetized water
Watering flowers with magnetized water gives deep green leaf color, thick sturdy stems, a well-developed root system, and strong resistance to cold and to pests and diseases, as with clivias, camellias, azaleas and five-needle pines; this is because magnetized water can raise biological activity, make the organic matter in the potting soil decompose well, and also bring the inherent fertility of the soil into full play, with the microorganisms and nutrients in the soil increasing markedly, thereby promoting flower growth.
