Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Stock, also known as garden stock, is a biennial or perennial herbaceous plant that can grow up to 60 cm tall, and it is one of the most famous flowers in Europe. Whether planted in a courtyard or grown in a pot indoors, it is a beautiful sight. Today, the editor will introduce its propagation methods. It is mostly propagated by sowing, and the details are explained below.

I. Method

Propagation by sowing

II. Time

Any time from August to the 10th is fine. During this period, friends can decide the sowing time according to the desired flowering period. For example: if you want it to bloom earlier, you can sow in early August; if you want it to bloom later, you can sow after October.

III. Method

1. Seed collection

When collecting seeds, choose plants with single flowers, because double-flowered plants have no pistil and therefore cannot produce seeds.

2. Planting method

First water the potting soil thoroughly until no water flows out from the bottom of the flowerpot, then sow.

Spread the seeds evenly on the surface of the soil, then cover them with a thin layer of fine soil; at this point there is no need to water again. Choose a shady place to put them. After about half a month, if you find the potting soil is a bit dry, you can place the whole flowerpot in water, with the water level reaching 1/2 of the flowerpot; leave it for a while and then take it out. Generally, after about 15 days, small sprouts can be seen emerging. Wait until the leaves of the seedlings have fully opened before transplanting and setting them in place. When transplanting, be sure not to damage the seedlings; it is best to transplant them with the soil.

3. Later care

After planting in place, water once first, but be sure to water thoroughly, and place it in a spot with good air circulation and no direct sunlight. After the seedlings have adapted to the pot, they can be placed in the sun; at this time, water once every two days and fertilize once every 10 days, and stop fertilizing once flowering begins.
