What are the symptoms of classical swine fever, swine pasteurellosis, and swine erysipelas?

1. Typical clinical symptoms of classical swine fever: listlessness, slow movement, arched back and sensitivity to cold, reduced or even complete loss of appetite, and persistent high fever. Sick pigs have conjunctivitis, constipation in the early stage, diarrhea in the later stage, and foul-smelling feces. Boars have urine in the prepuce, and squeezing by hand releases a cloudy, foul-smelling liquid. In the early stage of the disease, the skin becomes congested, and later turns cyanotic or hemorrhagic, commonly seen in the areas under the abdomen, at the tip of the nose, at the base of the ears, on the inner sides of the limbs, and at the external genitalia. It is often complicated by pneumonia and fibrinous enteritis.

2. Typical clinical symptoms of swine pasteurellosis: high fever, complete loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, accelerated heartbeat, etc. The area under the neck and at the throat becomes hot, red and swollen, and hard; in severe cases it extends upward to the base of the ears and backward to the chest. Sick pigs have extreme difficulty breathing and assume a sitting-dog posture, with foamy fluid flowing from the mouth and nose, and cyanosis of the visible mucous membranes; constipation in the early stage, diarrhea in the later stage, and petechiae and small hemorrhagic spots on the skin.

3. Typical clinical symptoms of swine erysipelas: sudden rise in body temperature, persistent fever, weakness, often lying on the ground unable to get up, stiff gait when walking, and arched back when standing. Conjunctival congestion, with clear and bright eyes. Feces are dry and chestnut-like in the early stage, covered with mucus, and some have diarrhea in the later stage. Red patches appear on the skin surface, gradually turning purple, fading when pressed by hand and returning when released.

How to treat classical swine fever, swine pasteurellosis, and swine erysipelas? What injections (medications) to use?

Classical swine fever:

1. Do a good job of routine prevention work. Doing a good job of vaccination against classical swine fever is the key measure to prevent the occurrence of classical swine fever. Every year, adopt the method of combining regular vaccination with frequent booster shots, using classical swine fever rabbit-attenuated lyophilized vaccine; after dilution, inject 1ml intramuscularly in both large and small pigs. Immunity can be produced on the 4th day after injection, and the immune period can reach more than 1 year. Choose an immunization program suitable for the farm.

2. Implement the method of self-breeding and self-raising. If pigs need to be purchased from other places, after transport back they must still be raised in isolation for about half a month and given vaccine injections before they can be mixed into the herd for raising.

3. Strengthen market management and transport quarantine to prevent sick pigs from being sold, purchased, transported, and spreading disease in the market. At live pig trading markets, pig warehouses, slaughterhouses, and other places where pigs are concentrated, veterinary hygiene management and quarantine measures should especially be strengthened.

4. Improve feeding and management. Improve feeding management, and do a good job of veterinary hygiene and disinfection of pens, the environment, and management tools.

5. Emergency measures when classical swine fever occurs. At present, there is no effective drug treatment for classical swine fever. Early diagnosis and timely measures are of great significance for controlling and eliminating classical swine fever and reducing economic losses.

Swine pasteurellosis:

1. Penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline antibiotics all have certain efficacy against swine pasteurellosis. When antibiotics are used in combination with sulfonamides, such as tetracycline + sulfadimidine, tylosin + sulfadimidine, the efficacy is even better.

2. Inject 30 percent tilmicosin plus the Chinese herbal medicine Ban Chen Huang injection! Inject florfenicol in the other ear! Once a day, for three days.

3. Use chlortetracycline + florfenicol + potent doxycycline + antiviral No. 1, and administer for three days.

Swine erysipelas:

1. Penicillin 10,000 units per kg body weight by intravenous injection, or tetracycline 5000—10000 units per kg body weight, or Kangdi injection 0.1—0.2ml/kg body weight, twice a day.

2. Ampicillin by intravenous injection, or treatment with streptomycin, compound sulfadiazine sodium, lincomycin, tylosin, etc.
