Reasons and Solutions for Yellowing Leaves on the Firecracker Vine
1. Excessive moisture
When caring for plants, although their roots are in the soil, they still need to breathe. If water accumulates in the pot or the soil is too moist when watering, the roots will be in a "suffocating" state, and at this time the roots cannot absorb water and nutrients to supply the leaves, so the leaves are very prone to turning yellow.
Solution: Move the plant to a well-ventilated and sunny location to evaporate the moisture in the soil as quickly as possible. Although its growth requires a large amount of water, watering should not be done blindly. For example, reduce watering or simply pause watering on cloudy and rainy days; also reduce watering during the flower bud growth period; when placing it, try to choose a location with good ventilation, which can reduce water retention.
2. Insufficient nutrients
This flower grows quickly and has abundant flowers and leaves, so it needs sufficient nutrients. If nutrients are insufficient for a long time, its leaves will turn yellow. It is particularly important to note that before flowering, we need to appropriately increase the amount of flower fertilizer applied, because during this period, the blooming of flowers will consume a large amount of nutrients. Once the amount of nutrients is insufficient, there will be no nutrients to supply the leaves, and they will turn yellow.
Solution: When planting, we should choose soil rich in nutrients; during the growth period, fertilize about once every 15 days. Before flowering, apply an additional round of fertilizer to ensure that the nutrients for the leaves will not be absorbed by the flowers during blooming.
