How to grow bowl lotus hydroponically? Detailed explanation of hydroponic methods and care tips
1. Prepare a pot
Since this plant likes to carry out its physiological activities in dark places, we need to prepare an opaque container for it, and you can choose any shape you like.
2. Seed treatment
To help it sprout faster, we first need to treat the seed with a tool: use a small knife to make a small opening on the round, protruding side of the seed. Be careful not to damage its embryo.
3. Soaking in water
Put the cracked seed in warm water to soak, changing the water every 2 to 3 days, and soak until the seed sprouts. After the seed sprouts, continue soaking it in water until it grows floating leaves and roots, and then it can be planted in a pot.
4. Planting
Place the sprout in the prepared container. To keep its roots from floating up, you can spread a layer of coarse sand at the bottom to lightly hold its roots down, which will look much more attractive.
5. Water
Pour water into the pot after planting, with the water level just reaching below the leaves.
6. Nutrients
Since clear water contains no substances at all, we need to buy some nutrient solution and pour it into the water. The amount of nutrient solution should be controlled according to the instructions. If no nutrient solution is added and there is only water, the plant will soon die, and we will not be able to see it bloom, so nutrient solution must be added.
7. Light
During its growth period, it needs light that meets its requirements, so it should be given more sun.
