How to root Mountain Rose (Aeonium aureum)? Teach you the correct rooting method

Just hearing its name makes it very appealing. It looks very cute and is perfect for giving as a gift, and many people keep it at home. However, when growing it, improper handling may cause it to die, and at that point, trying to revive it is very difficult, and you can only replant it. We can use its side shoots to propagate it, so what should we do to help it grow roots? Is this easy for it, and are the chances of success high?

I. Growth habits

It likes cool places with light, does not like water accumulation, hates stuffy heat, and is not strict about soil requirements. Generally, adding a little fertilizer to the soil is enough for it to grow well.

II. How to promote rooting

If it is a seedling you just bought, check whether its outer leaves have withered. It is best to remove the yellowed and withered leaves, otherwise they will easily rot after planting. Then let it dry in the air for two to three days before planting it in soil.

The potting soil can be mixed yourself. Using ash produced from burning grass, wrapping it with some granular fertilizer, and adding some soil makes very good potting soil. After planting, do not water it first. Watering it about once a month is enough.

Do not always disturb it for no reason, and do not keep thinking about checking its roots, otherwise its roots will be damaged and its future growth will be affected. Put it in a windy area, and after some time it will quickly grow roots. In summer, it temporarily stops growing and enters dormancy, so if it is this season, it will not root. It will only successfully root when the weather becomes cool in autumn.

III. Precautions

1. Choose breathable soil and a pot with holes for it, so that its chances of surviving are greater.

2. You can also add some stones at the bottom of the pot to make drainage easier, and then add soil.

3. During transport, it is easily damaged, so when we have just bought it back, we should not water it, otherwise it will easily become infected with pathogens. First wait three to five days, then water it, and place it in a shaded, windy place. Do not let it get sunlight first.

4. Except in summer, it can be given sunlight at other times. If the light is insufficient, it will only grow leaves. If it is kept out of light for a long time, its leaves will grow few and very long, bending downward, but they will be very weak, and it may very likely die. Create a ventilated and breathable environment for it, otherwise it will easily suffer root rot and the leaves will turn black.
