Can Aeonium (Mountain Rose) succulents be propagated by leaf cuttings?

Many friends like to grow this plant and then give it to people they like or respect. Growing plants is a very popular thing now, especially this kind of plant, which is very well liked. So how is it propagated? Can leaf cuttings survive? Many friends who are new to it don't know much about it, so let's take a look together.

1. Whether leaf cuttings work

If you want to propagate it by leaf cuttings, it is very hard to keep alive; only by beheading can you increase its chances of survival. In autumn, you can choose a plant that has grown relatively tall, cut off an appropriate section, wrap a string around it and pull it off. Then put this part in a ventilated, shady area to dry, letting the wound dry out, usually for just 2 to 7 days. Then plant it in relatively moist soil and wait for it to root, which usually takes 15 to 30 days.

2. Other propagation methods

1. You can propagate it by division, which is very simple: take off its small offsets, then put them in a windy spot to dry, and plant them in soil. Be very careful not to remove its main head, so that it can grow even more offsets during the growing season. You must propagate it by cuttings, because once it blooms, it will use up all its nutrients and then wither and die, so it is very necessary to let it grow some side offsets to prepare for the next planting.

2. If it has already become woody, you only need to twist off its side offsets by hand, and you will find that the wound is still green, full of life and vitality; the woody outer stem is just an illusion. Then let it dry and you can plant it directly.

3. If it has not yet become woody, you can use a sharp knife or another sharp tool to cut it off, but be careful and try not to make the wound bigger. You should also let it dry, and then plant it.
