There are many kinds of shrimp on the market, and the greasyback shrimp is a favorite of many friends, especially children. In recent years, more and more farmers have been raising greasyback shrimp, so what are the greasyback shrimp farming methods? What kind of shrimp is the greasyback shrimp? How do you clean greasyback shrimp? How much was a jin of greasyback shrimp in 2018?

1. Greasyback shrimp farming methods

1. Site selection

The farming site is much the same as for raising other fish and shrimp; you can build one yourself or use a rural pond. A size of 2-5 mu is suitable, and a water depth of 1-2 m is best. The pond should have some slope, slightly inclined, which helps with drainage. The water quality of the farming pond must be high; compared with other fish and shrimp, the greasyback shrimp has higher water quality requirements and is more sensitive to water pollution. Clear water quality is the key to ensuring its molting and growth.

2. Cleaning and fertilizing to cultivate bait

After the farming site is ready, it must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Drain the pond water, then expose it to the sun for 2-3 days before adding water. For ponds with more silt, expose them to the sun for about one month. After adding water, strict disinfection must be carried out, and common quicklime or bleaching powder can be used for disinfection. The greasyback shrimp feeds on plankton, so about one week before releasing the seedlings, fertilizer should be applied to cultivate bait, the basic biological bait in the shrimp pond. Fertilization mainly uses organic and inorganic fertilizers.

3. Releasing the seedlings

The greasyback shrimp grows suitably in water at 18-30 degrees, so seedlings are generally released around late May, when the temperature is relatively stable and suitable for releasing seedlings. To ensure the survival rate of the shrimp seedlings, desalination should be carried out one week before release: keep them in water with a salinity specific gravity of 1.003 for one week before moving them into the farming pond. Desalination must be done gradually, and must never be rushed; it can be done at the same time as fertilizing to cultivate bait.

4. Farming management

After the shrimp seedlings enter the pond, it is daily management, mainly water quality, feeding, and disease prevention and control. Water quality management is extremely important. About 10 days after the shrimp seedlings are stocked, water should be gradually added, and quicklime or bleaching powder should be spread to improve water quality and disinfect and sterilize. When the water temperature reaches 24-30 degrees, the greasyback shrimp's food intake increases greatly, and this is also its period of rapid growth, so feeding must be increased to ensure a food source. Disease management focuses on prevention; quicklime mold agent should be splashed regularly at each stage, and calcium can also be supplemented to promote shell molting and growth.

2. What kind of shrimp is the greasyback shrimp?

The greasyback shrimp is a seawater shrimp. If the greasyback shrimp bought at the market is raised in freshwater, it should be desalinated seedlings, which can be raised in freshwater. The greasyback shrimp is bred in freshwater and farmed in seawater enclosures; its name comes from “enclosure-based farming.”

3. How do you clean greasyback shrimp?

1. First, rinse the shell with water. As for the digestive tract, you can only remove the shrimp vein: insert a toothpick horizontally at the 4th or 5th segment counting from the shrimp head and lift it out.

2. If serving guests, simply peel off the shell on the body, leaving the head and tail. Cut a slit along the back of the peeled body, remove the shrimp vein, and squeeze out the residue of the stomach in the shrimp head.
