How are Sanhuang chickens raised in rural areas? Prospects and 10 key farming technique points for reference
Sanhuang chicken is a high-quality broiler strain developed by crossing excellent local breeds. In recent years, more and more people in rural areas are raising Sanhuang chickens, so what are the prospects for raising Sanhuang chickens? How to raise them? You can refer to these 10 key farming technique points.
I. What are the prospects for raising Sanhuang chickens?
Thanks to the uniquely tender meat of Sanhuang chickens, they are deeply loved by the public. Many people will not choose partridge chickens or white-feathered chickens, because their meat is relatively coarse, and when used for making soup they lack the fresh flavor of chicken meat, so the market demand for Sanhuang chickens is relatively large, and the farming prospects are very broad.
In addition, in terms of market price, the market price of Sanhuang chickens varies in different regions, so we conducted a simple market survey on this. In Henan, the selling price of Sanhuang chickens is 12 yuan per jin, while in Guangxi it is 23 yuan per jin, in Shanghai it is 19 yuan per jin, and in Hunan it is only 10 yuan per jin. This shows one thing: the more developed the city, the lower the output of raised Sanhuang chickens, and coupled with the originally higher living standards and price levels, so a high price is unavoidable.
II. Key points of Sanhuang chicken farming techniques
1. Preparation before brooding
2 weeks before the chicks arrive, thoroughly clean and disinfect the room, floor and cages, and prepare feed, medicines, feed troughs, drinkers and heat preservation equipment. Preheat the brooding house 3 days before receiving the chicks.
2. Raising environment
(1) Temperature and humidity. The indoor temperature is 22-24°C, and the temperature around the chicks in the first week is 32-34°C, then decreases by 2-3°C per week on average until it is the same as room temperature. Relative humidity: 60%-70% from 1 to 10 days of age, and 50%-60% after 10 days of age.
(2) Lighting and density. For meat-type Sanhuang chicks, the lighting time in the first week is 23 hours per day, with 1 hour of darkness, and the light intensity is 10 lux. After two weeks, use natural light during the day, and provide 1 hour of light at each feeding at night, with a light intensity of 5 lux.
3. Feeding
After the chicks enter the house, give them water first 20-30 minutes later, and it is advisable to drink room-temperature water within 7 days. Start feeding 2-3 hours after drinking, using complete-priced mash or complete-priced pellets for the starter feed, with free access to feed, and multivitamins can be added to the drinking water.
4. Management
(1) Daily management. The keeper should carefully observe the chickens' mental state, activity, feed intake and drinking conditions, and promptly remove sick and weak chicks.
(2) Beak trimming of chicks. Breeding chicks should have their beaks trimmed at 7-10 days of age.
5. Transferring groups
At the end of 6 weeks of age, transfer from the brooding house to the growing house, and at the same time separate males and females into different groups.
6. Environmental requirements
(1) Temperature and humidity. The suitable environmental temperature is 18-21°C, and the relative humidity is 60%-65%.
(2) Lighting and raising density. Growing chickens should receive 8-10 hours of light per day. In summer, when daytime light exceeds 10 hours, shade nets can be hung on the windows in the morning and evening to control light.
7. Feeding
In order to prevent growing chickens from becoming too fat and affecting egg production, restricted feeding should be implemented for growing chickens, giving them growing-period feed, with the feeding amount at 80%-85% of free intake, and appropriately adjusting the feed amount according to the chickens' body weight.
8. Breeding egg management
After repeated mating twice, begin collecting breeding eggs the next day. Collect eggs more than 4 times a day; after collecting the breeding eggs, select the eggs immediately and remove unqualified breeding eggs. The selected breeding eggs should be disinfected immediately; store the breeding eggs with the large end facing up, and the suitable temperature of the egg storage is 12-15°C, with a relative humidity of 70%-80%. The storage time of breeding eggs should not exceed 7 days.
9. Disinfection
Set up a disinfection pool and disinfection room at the entrance of the chicken farm. Vehicles entering and leaving and all personnel entering the farm should be disinfected through the disinfection pool; personnel entering the production area should change clothes and disinfect. Do a good job in environmental sanitation and disinfect with chickens once a week.
10. Immunization
Immunization should be combined with actual local conditions, selecting suitable vaccines and immunization methods for disease prevention.
