Grass carp enteritis is no stranger to farmers, commonly known as rotten intestine plague, often occurring together with bacterial gill rot and red skin disease, and is a relatively serious grass carp disease. So how do you treat grass carp with enteritis? What are the causes? How to prevent it?

1. What are the symptoms and causes of grass carp enteritis?

Symptoms:

1. In the early stage, there is a phenomenon of the fish scattering in panic while feeding; sick fish swim slowly, their body color darkens, and their appetite decreases. They may even stop eating.

2. The scales over the whole body become loose and stand up, the bases turn red, both sides of the abdomen swell, the anus becomes red and swollen, protrudes and turns slightly outward, and when the abdomen is pressed lightly, bloody fluid flows out.

4. In the later stage of the disease, the intestine, esophagus and stomach can be seen to be red, the internal organs are abnormal, the elasticity of the intestinal wall is very poor, and inside the intestine there is only pale yellow mucus, with blood and pus filling the intestinal tract. The infection rate and mortality rate are very high.

Causes:

1. When summer temperatures are too high and grass carp are fed undisinfected inferior feed and aquatic plants, they are prone to this disease.

2. When water quality deteriorates, there is a lot of sludge at the bottom, and dissolved oxygen is low, causing the fish body's resistance to decline, this disease often occurs.

3. Fish enteritis is bacterial enteritis caused by infection with enteric punctate Aeromonas, and the pathogen of this disease is enteric punctate Aeromonas, an opportunistic pathogen.

2. How to prevent grass carp enteritis?

1. Feed scientifically, with small meals and more frequent feeding, and follow the “four fixed points” and “four observations” when feeding compound feed.

2. Carry out preventive disinfection of the water body, improve the bottom regularly, pay more attention to regulating water quality, fertilize reasonably, and disinfect and kill pathogens at irregular intervals.

3. Prevent in advance by adding some antibacterial and antiviral substances (Eucommia ulmoides leaf extract) to the usual bait in advance to enhance the fish's immunity and stress resistance.

3. How to treat grass carp with enteritis?

1. Splash drugs over the whole pond: splash bleaching powder over the whole pond, using 0.1 g per cubic meter of water; or splash strong cyanogen essence (trichloroisocyanuric acid) over the whole pond, using 0.2-0.5 g per cubic meter of water; or splash chlorine dioxide over the whole pond, using 0.3-0.6 g per cubic meter of water; or splash dibromohydantoin over the whole pond, using 0.2-0.3 g per cubic meter of water.

2. Feed medicated bait: feed oxytetracycline medicated bait, 50-80 mg per kg of fish, added to the feed to feed the fish, continuously for 4-6 days, in combination with Lechang-eucalyptus essential oil, which inhibits harmful intestinal bacteria, with 100 g of Lechang mixed into 300-400 jin of feed.
