The peacock flies southeast, hovering every five li. The peacock is an animal with very high ornamental value. At the same time, it is also edible. Raising peacocks is a good way to make money. To give everyone a more specific understanding of peacock farming, the editor below will introduce Peacocks' Living Habits and Rearing Management.

1. Peacocks' Living Habits

1. Fondness for quiet

Peacocks are animals that are easily startled. They need to be raised separately in a quiet environment. Disturbance from the noise of other animals will affect the peacocks' growth and development, reducing their egg production and fertilization rate.

2. Ability to fly

Even though peacocks look clumsy and their body weight averages around 5 kg, they can fly. They like to fly. So when raising peacocks, you must ensure they have space to fly.

3. Omnivorous nature

Peacocks are omnivorous animals. They can eat anything. From flying insects to seeds. The best feed for raising peacocks is a varied and balanced mix.

4. Fondness for perching

Peacocks must be provided with perches. They like to perch.

5. Fondness for shade and fear of rain

Peacocks like cool weather. When the weather is hot and the temperature is high, peacocks are rarely active. If rainy days make the environment dirty and messy and it is not cleaned in time, peacocks are prone to illness.

2. Peacock Rearing Management

1. Brooding

It is best to brood in cages, with the temperature at least 28 degrees or above, and during the first 3 days after birth it should even reach 30 degrees. Keep the rearing density at 10 peacocks per brooding cage, then decrease afterward. The chicks should first be given multivitamin water or 0.02% potassium permanganate water to start drinking, then fed chicken starter feed and yellow mealworms. If there are no yellow mealworms, 3 to 5 percent fish meal can be mixed into the chicken starter feed, or cooked eggs chopped up can be fed. Supply sufficient drinking water, and appropriately add compound vitamin B solution to the drinking water.

2. Rearing of growing peacocks

When they reach 1 month old, they can be moved from the brooding cage to the rearing house. The density is 10-12 birds per 30 sq m. For feed, two feed buckets can be used to separately hold medium chicken feed and pigeon feed made from a combination of corn, peas, etc. Add 3% fish meal to the medium chicken feed, and at the same time put health grit in a basin and place it in the pen.

3. Breeding peacocks

The male-to-female ratio of breeding peacocks is about 1:5. Remember, you must not put 2 male peacocks into the same pen at the same time! Remember! Otherwise, when 2 males fight, one will surely be injured. The breeding flock's feed also needs health grit supplied. It is best to supplement with yellow mealworms, 50 grams per bird per day, and keep a small amount of fresh green feed available. The breeder feed should have 18% to 20% crude protein and 11.70-12.54 megajoules/kg energy. Supply sufficient clean drinking water every day.
