Meat duck is a common food ingredient in our daily lives. During the farming process, daily life management must be done properly to achieve good quality. So how should meat ducks be managed in daily life? Follow the editor of Tuliu Network to take a look below!
1. Breed selection
Choose excellent breeds. At present, there are many meat duck breeds. The commonly used breed is the Cherry Valley duck; in addition, there are also the Beijing duck, Digao duck, Gaoyou duck, etc.
2. Duck house construction
For the construction of the duck house, it is advisable to choose a place far from the village, with high and dry terrain, sufficient water sources, a quiet environment, good ventilation and lighting, and convenient transportation.
1. Permanent duck house
Duck houses can be divided into permanent duck houses and temporary duck houses. Permanent duck houses are built with bricks, stone, cement, etc., and can be used for a long time. Temporary duck houses are covered with plastic greenhouses using double-layer plastic film. For heat preservation and insulation, crop straw, etc. is placed between the two layers of plastic film.
2. Temporary duck house
Temporary duck houses can be used for 2-3 years. The floor inside the house should be paved with cement concrete and maintain a certain slope. There should be ditches around it to facilitate washing and cleaning the duck manure. The building area of the duck house is determined by the size of the stocking quantity. For example, for a scale of 1000 ducks per batch, the brooding room area is 80 square meters, and the brooding density is about 15 ducks per square meter; the area for the growing duck house is 240 square meters, and the stocking density is 5 ducks per square meter.
3. Feeding methods
Meat duck feeding is divided into various forms such as floor feeding and net-bed feeding
1. Floor feeding
Floor farming is a traditional farming method, in which meat ducks are placed directly on the ground covered with crop straw for feeding. Clean up regularly every day, clean the environment inside the duck house, etc.
2. Net-bed feeding
Net-bed feeding is a new method of meat duck farming developed in recent years. The net bed is made of woven bamboo strips and is a certain height above the ground, allowing meat ducks to live on the net bed. The height of the net bed is about 70 cm, the width is 300-400 cm, and the length is equal to that of the duck house. It can be single-row or double-row. The net bed uses wooden sticks as supports and bamboo strips 2 cm wide as the net. The bamboo strip spacing of the brooding net bed is 1 cm. The bamboo strip spacing of the net bed for growing ducks is 2 cm. A fence about 50 cm high is set on the outer side of the net bed. Water troughs and feed troughs are set on the inner side of the fence. If conditions permit, the net bed can also be woven with No. 8 or No. 10 iron wire, and the mesh spacing is all 1 cm.
