New Methods for Feeding Pigs with Distiller's Grains: High Nutrition, Good Returns

Distiller's grains are a byproduct of the brewing industry, with high output and large quantity. Distiller's grains are a byproduct of the brewing industry, with high output and large quantity. Many farmers feed them fresh or dried and then directly fed, but due to high residual alcohol and crude fiber content, they are not conducive to pig growth and weight gain. Using the following new methods to scientifically treat distiller's grains before feeding pigs can significantly reduce pig-raising costs and improve breeding returns.

1. Drying and Feeding

Fresh distiller's grains generally have a moisture content of 60%-70%. If dried at a high temperature of 80-100C and crushed, the residual alcohol content can be effectively reduced, the palatability for pigs can be improved, and the pork quality can also be improved. The crude protein content of dried distiller's grain powder can reach 13%-15%, which is comparable to the protein content of wheat bran. According to experiments, distiller's grain powder can completely replace 20% of wheat bran in the diet of growing-finishing pigs or 40% of wheat bran in the diet of finishing pigs without affecting pig growth.

2. Fermented Feeding

By applying biofermentation technology, single-cell protein feed can be produced from fresh distiller's grains. Its crude protein content can reach 20%-40%, and the crude fiber content is also greatly reduced. It can replace part or all of the protein feed in pig feed. The simplest production method is: add 20%-30% rice bran or wheat bran to fresh distiller's grains, with a moisture content such that it forms a ball in the hand but does not drip water, then evenly mix in yeast (purchased from a yeast factory), place it under conditions of 20-30C for cultivation, and generally fermentation can be successfully completed in 36-48 hours.

3. Silage Feeding

Add 0.2%-0.3% urea to fresh distiller's grains with a moisture content of 60%-70%. Carry out silage according to the key technical points for making ordinary straw silage, and it can generally be fed in about 40 days. According to experiments, adding 30% silage distiller's grains to the diet of finishing pigs gives better results.

Alright, the above are the new methods for feeding pigs with distiller's grains brought to you by the Tuliu.com editor. Friends who raise pigs at home can go back and try them~ Then see you next time.
