The kaluga sturgeon is hailed as the "giant panda of the water," so how should it be farmed?
Last time we talked about sturgeon, and this time we will talk about the kaluga sturgeon. The kaluga sturgeon is also a type of sturgeon, and its body size is larger compared with sturgeon. The kaluga sturgeon is hailed as the "giant panda of the water." Moreover, kaluga sturgeon meat is delicious and has no fish bones, so it is very popular among fish lovers. So how should the kaluga sturgeon be farmed? Let the Tuliu.com editor take everyone to have a look below~
1. Selection of farming environment
The body size of the kaluga sturgeon is considered very large, so when cultivating it artificially, the fish pond must be large, and the water level must also be deep; generally, keeping the water level at 2-3 m is sufficient, and the water quality should be clear and pollution-free. The dissolved oxygen in the water body should be controlled at about 5 mg per liter, and during the farming process, an aerator must be prepared to ensure sufficient dissolved oxygen in the water body and avoid death caused by hypoxia. A feeding platform also needs to be set up to facilitate feeding.
2. Disinfection
The first thing to do before farming is pond clearing and disinfection, and pond clearing and disinfection must be carried out for about 10-20 days before seedlings can be stocked for farming. For pond clearing and disinfection, first lower the water depth to about 70 cm, then evenly splash lime mixed with water over the whole area; this can eliminate harmful microorganisms in the pond. After 3 to 4 days of disinfection, drain all the water in the pond, then fill it with water again and disinfect it with tea cake. The leftover tea bran from disinfection can be used as fertilizer. Half a month before stocking seedlings, disinfect again with a chlorine-containing disinfectant. Only after such sufficient disinfection can seedlings be stocked with peace of mind.
3. Seedling stocking test
The first thing to do before stocking seedlings is to select fry, and choose fry that are healthy and disease-free, energetic, have a large food intake, and have a body length of more than 20 cm. Moreover, the overall size difference of the fry must not exceed 5 cm, to facilitate later feeding management. The time for stocking seedlings is very important; not only must water temperature be considered, but the time to market must also be considered. Before stocking seedlings, first place the fry in a container filled with water, then continuously aerate it, and add salt to the container so that the salt concentration of the water in the container reaches about 3%. After soaking for 10-20 minutes, then stocking the seedlings can greatly increase the survival rate and kill pathogenic microorganisms carried on the surface of the fry, thereby reducing the occurrence of disease. On average, stocking about 500 fry per mu is sufficient.
4. Feeding
When the fry are just put into the pond, there is no fixed feeding point, so domestication is needed first. The feed can first be placed on the feed platform, so that a fixed feeding point can be formed and the feed utilization rate can also be improved. When feeding, the principle of small amounts and frequent feeding must be adhered to, and the feed must also suit the palatability of the kaluga sturgeon. Usually, the best feed pellet size is one that can reach the size of the fish's mouth, and the feeding amount is 3% of the total fish weight. Feeding needs to be carried out about four times a day, and the feeding amount can be adjusted according to the time.
The above is the kaluga sturgeon farming technique that Aoran has brought to everyone. I hope everyone can learn it. If there is anything you do not understand, you can leave a message in the comment section, and I will answer it for everyone in time.
