Scarab beetles can be completely killed with pesticides such as phoxim microcapsule suspension, chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate, kung fu emulsifiable concentrate, baode emulsifiable concentrate, fenvalerate, and supracide emulsifiable concentrate. Scarab beetles can be completely killed with pesticides such as phoxim microcapsule suspension, chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate, kung fu emulsifiable concentrate, baode emulsifiable concentrate, fenvalerate, and supracide emulsifiable concentrate. Generally, after they emerge from the soil, 25% phoxim microcapsule suspension or 50% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate or 40% chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate can be used, with a dosage of 300-400g per mu, diluted into a 300-fold solution, and evenly sprayed on the ground for complete kill. Alternatively, during the adult outbreak period, at dusk each evening, a 2.5% kung fu emulsifiable concentrate 1800-fold solution or 50% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate 1500-2000-fold solution or 2.5% baode emulsifiable concentrate 2000-fold solution or 20% fenvalerate 1500-2000-fold solution or 40% supracide emulsifiable concentrate 1500-fold solution can be sprayed on the tree canopy for complete kill.

Besides pesticides, scarab beetles can also be controlled by the following methods:

1. Agricultural control

In winter and spring, combine orchard clearing with plowing and turning the soil between fruit tree rows to eliminate many larvae; farmyard manure applied as topdressing must be fully decomposed to effectively reduce the source of white grubs. The application of undecomposed manure-based organic fertilizer; the extensive use of herbicides; the soil not being deep-plowed; intercropping corn, peanuts and other crops in orchards. These factors all provide a living environment for white grubs and increase the outbreak of scarab beetles.

2. Manual control

Based on the death-feigning characteristic of some species, at dusk spread a plastic sheet or place a basin of water under the tree canopy, shake the branches, then quickly collect the scarab beetles that fall onto the plastic sheet, and kill them or feed them to chickens.

Death-feigning: when a scarab beetle is subjected to some stimulus or disturbance, it will drop from its resting place and enter a death-feigning state. After a short while, it can return to normal.

3. Physical control

(1) Light trapping: Anomala corpulenta, Holotrichia parallela, black velvet scarab and others have strong phototaxis. Orchards with the conditions can install black light lamps or 60W bulbs, with significant trapping effect. Using black-green single-tube double-light lamps can improve scarab beetle trapping by about 10% compared with black light lamps.

(2) Fruit vinegar liquid trapping: Use the characteristic that Protaetia brevitarsis likes fruit vinegar liquid to trap and kill them. The preparation method of the fruit vinegar liquid is: 1 part fallen fruit, 1 part vinegar, 1.5-2 parts sugar, 0.5 part water. Chop the fruit, mix with vinegar, sugar and water, heat and boil into a porridge-like consistency, put it into a wide-mouth bottle (half a bottle is better), then add half a bottle of 500-fold dichlorvos solution and mix evenly. During the peak emergence period of Protaetia brevitarsis adults, hang 1 bottle of fruit vinegar liquid every 20-30m, at a hanging height of 1.2-1.5 m. The bottle should be close to the branches so that adults can fly into it. Remove dead Protaetia brevitarsis every morning.

(3) Planting sunflowers in orchards for trapping: The scent of the sunflower disk has a strong attracting effect on Protaetia brevitarsis adults. In the orchard, using the method of scattered single-plant planting, plant 4-6 sunflower plants per mu. From June to August, use the scent of sunflowers to attract them. Every morning, cover the sunflower disk with a bag and tap it so that adults fall into the bag, then kill them in a concentrated way. More than 20 can be trapped per plant per day.

(4) Using insects to attract insects: Use the gregarious characteristic of scarab beetle adults to trap and kill them. In the orchard, hang 6-8 beer bottles evenly every 667 sq m, hang the beer bottles on branches about 1.5m above the ground, catch 2-3 live Protaetia brevitarsis adults and put them into the beer bottles, and they will attract other adults to fly into the bottles. When adults emerge in large numbers, the beer bottles can be filled within 3-5 days.

(5) Poplar branch bundle trapping: Use the characteristic that Holotrichia parallela likes to eat poplar and elm leaves. Cut leafy poplar branches or elm branches into 60cm sections, tie one end into a small bundle 10cm thick, soak in 50% phoxim or 90% trichlorfon 100-fold solution for 2-3 hours, hang them on 1.5m-long wooden sticks, and at dusk scatter and place them around the orchard and between fruit tree rows, with good insect-killing effect.

The above is the detailed introduction by Tuliu.com's editor to the pesticide complete kill of scarab beetles and manual control, physical control, and manual control. We hope it is helpful to everyone.
