Beef Cattle Price Per Jin

In the main farming areas, the average price of beef cattle is around 12 yuan/jin. Among them, the price of feeder cattle in Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and other places is around 12-12.4 yuan/jin, while the price of feeder cattle in Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi and other places basically remains at around 12 yuan/jin, and the price of feeder cattle in Ningxia, Xinjiang and other northwestern regions is basically between 11.6-11.9 yuan/jin.

Key Points of Beef Cattle Farming Technology

1. Choose a suitable feeding method

(1) Small pen free-range raising. Generally, 6-15 head per pen according to cattle size, with each head occupying an area of 4-5 sq m. Free feeding can be adopted, or scheduled feeding can be adopted. With free feeding, due to competition, the maximum feed intake can be obtained, the daily weight gain of cattle is relatively high, and the weight gain of cattle is uniform; the disadvantage is greater waste of forage. If scheduled feeding is used, forage waste can be avoided, but it will cause insufficient feed intake for a few cattle and uneven weight gain, so attention should be paid to supplementing feed for cattle with insufficient intake.

(2) Scheduled tying at the trough for feeding. This means allowing beef cattle to move freely at ordinary times, and tying them at the feed trough at a certain time every day for feeding. This method wastes less forage and gives uniform weight gain in beef cattle. The disadvantage is that because each head is fixed to a trough position, the competitive feeding nature of cattle cannot be fully brought into play, so dry matter intake cannot reach the maximum, and it is more labor-intensive, with increased land input cost.

2. Regular deworming

(1) Digestive tract parasites: albendazole orally once at 10-15 mg/kg body weight, ivermectin orally once or by subcutaneous injection at 0.2 mg/kg body weight.

It is recommended to use the above two drugs at the same time, which has a good effect on expelling most nematodes, tapeworms, roundworms and some flukes in the body, and also plays a preventive and therapeutic role against body surface sarcoptic mange.

(2) Body surface parasites: a 1-3% solution of trichlorfon or a 0.025-0.05% solution of amitraz can be sprayed on the body surface.

(3) Fascioliasis hepatica: triclabendazole can be selected orally once at 12 mg/kg, or closantel orally once at 7-12 mg/kg body weight, or niclofolan orally once at 3 mg/kg body weight.

3. Regular stomach strengthening

During the feeding process, beef cattle often show conditions such as unformed feces or feed residue and grass residue in the feces, indicating that the digestive function of the cattle is not sound. If this is not corrected in time, it will develop into chronic digestive tract disease. The feed conversion rate of cattle is low, the coat is rough and messy, and growth is slow, seriously affecting production performance. For this reason, before starting fattening and during the fattening process, stomach strengthening should be carried out regularly.

Traditional Chinese medicine stomach-strengthening powder can be used at 300-500 g per head per day, and artificial mineral salt at 50-150 g per head per day, for 5-7 consecutive days. In order to achieve a better stomach-strengthening effect, daily feed intake should be appropriately controlled during the stomach-strengthening period.
