Tilapia is a kind of fish we often eat in our daily lives, and its farming area in our country is very large. The taste of tilapia is also very delicious, and no matter what cooking method is used, its fresh flavor can be preserved. Moreover, tilapia is rich in protein and various vitamins, so the farming area of tilapia is now becoming larger and larger. So what farming models does tilapia have? Let's take a look below!

1. Pond farming

Pond farming is the most common farming model for tilapia. First, a place sheltered from the wind and facing the sun, with sufficient water sources, quiet and pollution-free, should be selected. Control the pond area well according to the farming quantity, fully disinfect the pond, add mud, then apply sufficient farmyard manure, and equip various farming equipment such as aerators. When the spring temperature stabilizes at around 15 degrees, the fry can begin to be stocked. Generally, the stocking quantity of tilapia should be controlled at around 2,000, and then a small number of silver carp, etc. can be polycultured. Then feeding management should be done well, the growth of the fish should be observed, and various basic tasks such as water changing, disease prevention and oxygen enrichment should be done well.

2. Rice field farming

Rice field farming is also a relatively common farming model in rural areas now. First select the rice field well, then after the rice field work is completed, half a month before stocking the fry, the field plot should also be fully disinfected, and one week before, fertilize the water to promote the growth of natural bait. Then about one week after the rice seedlings are transplanted, the fry can be stocked. The fry should be selected as robust, highly active, without wounds, and not greatly different in size. Control the stocking quantity well according to the rice field environment, and the fry should also be disinfected before stocking. After stocking, do the management work well. Under normal circumstances, basically no bait needs to be fed, and they can usually be raised by the time the rice is harvested.

3. Cage farming

Cage farming is a fish farming model that has emerged in recent years. When tilapia is cage-farmed, it can be raised alone or polycultured. Unlike pond and rice field farming, the fingerlings used in cage farming must maintain a relatively large size, because the growth space for tilapia in cage farming is relatively small. Therefore, the size of the fingerlings should be maintained at around 30g, and then sufficient dissolved oxygen must be ensured, because in cage farming, tilapia cannot surface for air. Finally, what must be controlled well is the farming density. It should not be too dense, otherwise it will affect the survival rate of tilapia.

4. Flowing water farming

Flowing water farming is also one of the main models for factory-style tilapia farming. The farming pond for flowing water farming should not be too large, generally controlled at around 40 sq m, and the oxygen content in the water should be kept as consistent as possible with cage farming. What makes flowing water farming different from other farming models is that the choice of bait is very important, and full-price bait should be the main type. The protein content in the bait should not be lower than 3/10. Then it should be fed at least 5 times a day, and the feeding amount depends on the body weight of the tilapia. It should not be too much, and residual bait should be removed in time to avoid spoilage affecting the growth of tilapia.

The above are the farming models for tilapia. I hope they can help you!
