Disinfection work should be done well for sows before, after, and during farrowing. About 3 weeks after the piglets are born, the first swine fever vaccine injection is carried out, and one month later, immunization work against diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease and paratyphoid is done. It starts about 20 days before the sow farrows, and then is carried out once after the piglets are weaned.

1. Environmental disinfection

Disinfection should be done well for sows before, after, and during farrowing. Attention should be paid to controlling the people and vehicles entering the pig farm, and disinfection work should also be done well before they enter the pig house to prevent them from carrying pathogens that affect the growth of the sows. Each time a batch of sows is moved out, the farrowing house must be thoroughly disinfected, and the sows are moved in only after the pens have been left empty for about a week. After the sows enter the farrowing period, disinfection should be carried out twice with the pigs present. Disinfectants should be drugs that cause little harm to the sows, and more than two types should be prepared to strengthen the disinfection effect.

2. Immunization injections

One month later, immunization against diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease and paratyphoid should be done. At two months, the second swine fever immunization should be carried out, and attention should also be paid to the prevention and treatment of various infectious diseases such as swine erysipelas and swine plague.

3. Timely deworming

When raising sows, a deworming plan should be made according to the deworming procedure. Regular deworming can not only enhance the immunity of the pig herd, but also prevent various diseases. It should be carried out once 20 days before the sow farrows and once after the piglets are weaned, and care should be taken to choose deworming drugs with good effects and low toxicity.
