Detailed guide to making a fermentation bed, easy for beginners to build
Dilute the special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed. Calculate the amount of bacterial agent according to the product instructions, and mix and dilute it with rice bran or cornmeal or wheat bran in the required ratio; scatter the special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed. The bedding can be evenly spread in five layers, or the bedding raw materials can be mixed evenly with the bacterial agent before spreading. Adjust the moisture to a water content of 40-60%; once the bedding is laid, pigs can be moved in for rearing immediately.
Fermentation Bed Making Method
Step 1: Dilute the special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed. Calculate the amount of bacterial agent according to the product instructions, and mix and dilute it with rice bran or cornmeal or wheat bran in the required ratio (generally 5-10 times). Divide the diluted special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed into five equal portions. (For pig rearing)
Step 2: Scatter the special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed. The bedding can be evenly spread in five layers, and with each layer of bedding spread, directly scatter one layer of the special bacterial powder for the fermentation bed, using one fifth of the total amount of bacterial agent per layer. The bedding raw materials can also be mixed evenly with the bacterial agent before spreading. Adjust the moisture to a water content of 40-60%.
The bedding thickness should reach about 60-80 cm. Freshly laid bedding is relatively loose; after a few days of pig rearing, the bedding will become basically compacted due to the pigs' trampling and the effect of fermentation heat, and the thickness will decrease by 15-20%. Adding more later will not affect the use effect.
Step 3: Move in pigs for rearing. Once the bedding is laid, pigs can be moved in for rearing immediately.
