What fish feed is good for raising fish
The quality of fish feed can be judged by looking at its color, smelling its odor, and pinching it with your hands. Generally, yellow feed is better, followed by purple and black, and the finer the grinding, the better the feed. In addition, bring the feed close to your nose and smell it; if you smell the fresh, light fragrance of fishmeal, then it is good, or put the feed in a container and soak it in water, then after it dissolves, slowly wash and pinch it with your hands; if there is sediment, then it is poor-quality feed.
1. Look: take the feed in your hand and examine it closely, looking at its grinding fineness and its color. If it is yellow, it mostly contains soybean cake; if purple, it is mostly rapeseed cake; if black, it is mostly cottonseed cake. Yellow feed is good, while purple and black are inferior. The finer the grinding, the better the feed.
2. Smell: bring the feed close to your nose and smell it. It is good if you smell the fresh, light fragrance of fishmeal (the aroma of fresh fish meat after sun-drying). If you smell the off odor of vegetable oil residue, then the fat in the feed has already deteriorated and is toxic to fish.
3. Taste: take a small amount of feed and put it in your mouth, chew it thoroughly and taste it. If after spitting it out your mouth feels numb or pungent, it indicates that raw materials toxic to fish have been added to the feed.
4. Soak: put the feed in a container and soak it in water. After it dissolves, slowly wash and pinch it with your hands. If there is sediment (sand or cloudy water), it is poor-quality feed.
