How to care for hydroponic narcissus in spring
Extend the flowering period
Spring is exactly when it blooms. At this time, you can add an appropriate amount of table salt to the water, which can effectively extend the flowering period. However, note that it needs to be added before the flowers open; if you wait until they have already opened, it will have the opposite effect.
After the flowering period, bury the bulbs in soil
When grown hydroponically, the plant withers after blooming in spring. Many people think it can no longer grow or bloom again, so they choose to throw it away. In fact, as long as the bulbs are stored properly, it will continue to grow. The specific method for storing the bulbs is as follows: after all the flowers have faded and the leaves have naturally withered, take the plant out of the water, remove all the dead leaves, leaving only the bulbs, then wipe the water dry before burying them in potting soil. This point is very important: never bury them in soil while still wet. Note that they should be buried completely, with none left exposed. Also, the soil must have good air permeability. Wait until the next year's narcissus planting season, then dig the whole thing out and plant it again.
Precautions
During the process, try to wear plastic gloves, because the plant's bulbs contain a relatively high level of toxins. If accidentally ingested, it can cause poisoning, and in severe cases can even lead to shock. If you handle it with bare hands, be sure to wash them several times thoroughly afterward.
