How to sprout narcissus? Master these methods for fast sprouting
1. Peeling
This is the first step of sprouting, which is to peel off all the outermost layer of skin from the bulb.
2. Cutting the bulb
This is the second step of sprouting, which is to cut 1 cm into both the front and back sides in the middle of the side buds, then pry them open to expose the buds inside, while also cutting away two layers of outer skin. Before cutting, first rinse the soil off the bulb, and also remove the old roots. Most importantly, you must not damage the buds inside the bulb, otherwise any operation becomes meaningless. If the buds are damaged, it will almost be very difficult for it to grow and bloom normally.
3. Soaking
After peeling and cutting the bulb are completed, it needs to be placed in clean water and soaked for 1 day to 2 days. During this period it will continuously secrete mucus, so at this time the water needs to be changed, or the mucus needs to be cleaned off.
4. Potting
After all of the above is completed, the preparation work for sprouting is also finished. Next, you only need to put it in a flowerpot, cover it with a layer of rice husks and so on, and then place it in the sunlight.
5. Care
You can water it once a day to maintain its humidity, and the temperature must not be too low either. After about 1 week, you can see new small buds growing out. At this point it can be exposed directly to sunlight, and after about 50 days, it can bloom. If you want to change containers and replant it, you can directly take out the bulb, rinse it clean with water, and then plant it.
