How much does centipede farming cost? A breakdown of the expenses helps you figure it out clearly
The purchase price of centipedes is generally 0.5 yuan to 2 yuan each, and the cost of building a farm for 600 centipedes will not exceed 1000 yuan. Centipedes have a very broad diet, and the daily feed cost is extremely low; the cost for 600 centipedes is at most 0.5 yuan. Disease prevention and control for centipedes is simple, costing about 100 yuan per year. Overall, calculated at 600 centipedes, the annual farming cost is 2000 yuan. The specific cost depends on the size grade.
The cost of farming centipedes
1. Buying commercial centipedes
The purchase price of centipedes on the market is generally 0.5 yuan to 2 yuan each. If you buy from a familiar farmer, the purchase price will not exceed 2 yuan each; even calculating at 1 yuan each, buying 600 breeding centipedes costs 600 yuan.
2. Building the farm
For farming centipedes, you can build farming ponds, or use old crocks, ceramic vats, and the like; the key point is to create a three-dimensional environment. The farming pond should be built in a sunny, ventilated, shady, damp, and quiet place, with an area preferably of 5 to 10 sq m, and the optimal rearing density per 1 sq m is 50 centipedes. The cost of this part will not exceed 1000 yuan.
3. Purchasing feed
Centipedes have a very broad diet; insects such as yellow mealworms, crickets, termites, spiders, and earthworms are all favored by centipedes. In addition, animal offal, vegetables and fruits, and even milk and bread can all serve as feed for centipedes. Therefore, the feed cost of farming centipedes is very low, and the daily feed cost for 600 breeding centipedes is at most 0.5 yuan.
4. Prevention and control
During climate changes, centipedes may suffer from molting disease, black spot disease, and the like; as long as mixed medicine is added to the feed for feeding, they can be treated, with the cost at most 100 yuan.
Calculated this way, if only 600 centipedes are farmed for a year, the farming cost is only 2000 yuan.
