For the Money Tree, you can use a mix of peat soil, leaf mold, and an appropriate amount of perlite and base fertilizer, or grow it in a pot with fine sandy soil. Watering should be adjusted according to seasonal changes, keeping the potting soil moist. Pay attention to temperature control in winter and shade in summer.

How to Grow the Money Tree

1. Soil selection:

The potting soil can be made by mixing peat soil, leaf mold, about 1/2 perlite and a small amount of base fertilizer, or you can use fine sandy soil for potting. Watering varies depending on the season; in summer it needs more water, water once a day to keep the potting soil moist, and in spring and autumn water once every 2-3 days.

2. Watering method:

It grows well in environments with high air humidity and sufficient soil moisture. Be careful that the potting soil does not lack water, otherwise it will cause a large number of leaves to drop. Under low temperature conditions in winter, watering should be appropriately controlled. If using a plastic container, pay attention to drainage. Keep the soil moist and water promptly before it dries out completely. When the weather is dry, you should also spray the plant to increase humidity; during the plum rain season, prevent water from accumulating in the pot.

3. Temperature control:

After bringing it indoors in early November, it should be placed in a cool room, and the temperature should not be lower than 5°C, otherwise it will cause leaf drop.

4. Shade:

The Money Tree prefers a warm and humid environment, avoids harsh sunlight, and is relatively shade-tolerant. When growing it, bright indirect light is most suitable. It is suitable for planting in well-ventilated, fertile and deep soil.

5. Fertilizing:

During the growing season, apply liquid fertilizer once every 1-2 weeks. From May to September, apply 20% cake fertilizer water twice a month. For variegated varieties, if there is too much nitrogen fertilizer and the light is weak, the patches on the leaves will become less obvious.

6. Pruning

Before moving it out in the season, it should be repotted and given appropriate shaping and pruning. For plants that are too tall and leggy, you can prune them back to encourage new shoots to sprout.
