The first step in gamecock breeding is selecting and breeding good stock, requiring a large body, strong bones, and well-developed breast muscles, with roosters weighing over 3.5 kg and hens over 2.5 kg; the second step is proper disease prevention, keeping the coop clean, and carrying out vaccination and disinfection; the third step is scientific feed formulation, with comprehensive nutrition and reasonable combinations; finally, provide water at fixed times daily, and train them to run and fight.

When raising gamecocks, be sure to pay attention to:

1. Temperature

When raising gamecocks, temperature is crucial. This is especially true for young chicks. You can also detect whether the temperature is high or low by observing how they spread out. When gamecocks huddle together and the density is high, it means the temperature is on the low side. When gamecocks move away from the heat source and scatter to the sides, it means the temperature is on the high side. Checking the indoor thermometer can directly reveal whether the temperature is high or low. When you find that the temperature on the thermometer does not match the actually required temperature, you must immediately take measures to raise or lower the temperature, and you must keep the temperature within the required range.

2. Ventilation

Whether ventilation is good is the key to successful breeding. In the cold winter, when temperatures are low, people often focus only on keeping warm and neglect ventilation. When ventilation is good, the gamecocks are lively and active, there is no peculiar smell in the coop, and it gives a refreshing feeling. Once you find that the gamecocks are listless despite being disease-free, breathing with slight panting, and the coop has a strong peculiar smell and is filled with dust, you should immediately strengthen ventilation. When ventilating, be careful that cold air does not blow directly onto the gamecocks.

3. Humidity

Humidity should also meet standards. When humidity is high, microorganisms survive easily, and if it is accompanied by low temperature, the harm of the low temperature is further aggravated. When humidity is low, the chicken coop becomes dry, and gamecocks are prone to respiratory diseases, especially chicks. A long period of dry conditions can cause chicks to become dehydrated and weak. Therefore, adjusting the humidity in the gamecock coop should not be neglected either.

As a traditional entertainment activity in our country, gamecock fighting is currently also being vigorously promoted, and raising and breeding gamecocks also has great potential.
