A Complete Analysis of the Key Points of Biosecurity Prevention and Control Measures for Pig Farms
First, establish a safe herd management system and disinfection system, and strictly control feed feeding and the entry and exit of transport vehicles; second, personnel entering and leaving the pig farm and the tools used on the farm must be cleaned and disinfected; finally, do a good job of vaccination and deworming of the pig herd, and rodent, mosquito and fly elimination.
Live pig herd management system:
1. Adhere to the principle of self-breeding and self-raising, and avoid purchasing and introducing breeding stock from other places as much as possible;
2. Strengthen the safety of stock introduction, minimize the number of introductions, and avoid introducing stock from epidemic areas;
3. When it is determined that stock introduction is needed, it is necessary to understand the health status and immunization program of the pig herd of the introducing unit;
4. The introducing unit must possess the "Breeding Pig Production License" and "Animal Epidemic Prevention Qualification Certificate" issued by the animal husbandry department; choose well-known breeding pig enterprises as much as possible;
5. The introduced pig herd must be raised separately for at least 45 days in an isolation facility (or isolation pen) 1-2 kilometers away from one's own pig farm, with dedicated personnel to raise them; during the isolation period, keep records and observations of the pig herd, disinfect regularly, conduct blood sampling and testing on the isolated pig herd, and carry out immunization and vaccination in a timely manner;
6. Before mixing herds, first place 1 pig from one's own farm into the introduced pig herd; after raising and observing for 2 weeks, if the pig herd shows no abnormalities, then the introduced breeding pigs can be mixed with the pigs on one's own farm for raising.
The biosecurity prevention and control of pig farms mainly depends on the strengthening of the safety awareness of relevant personnel and the implementation of the system; only in this way can prevention and control be carried out to the greatest extent.
